What are you eating/doing today? TGIF!!!
Since I'm up already. Figured I'd get a start.
Had breakfast already. Getting ready to wake up the girls.
Today is work, then...??? I don't know folks. Can I get some advice? We've been living in this house about four months now and it doesn't really feel like "home" yet. We come home and sit around bored. I go to the gym sometimes and live for Saturday mornings at the farmers market but the rest is...flat. Any of you ever have moving adjustments? If so I'd love to hear how you got over the hump.
Anyway, eats:
1. PB oatmeal (there goes my starch allowance for the day)
2. Something proteiny in a bit as my sugar will crash if not
3. I want chicken. Will get chicken!
4. I may make some chili for dinner

RNY Gastric Bypass 1-8-08 350/327/200 (HW/SW/CW). I spend most of my time playing with my food over at Bariatric Foodie - check me out!
I'd like to know that too. We moved to ND almost 2 years ago & its just not the same as it was in NC. I guess because we don't have family & friends here so we go to work/school & come home & sit in front of the TV, computer or play games with each other. My daughter is always gone tho. She has done so much since we've moved here because her friends family take her with them all the time. Lol My son is more of a home body. I guess I'm just so used to having all my family around & my friends that I've grown up with & now I have nobody. Kinda hard at times.

I think that home is created by repetitive exposure - so just seeing the same surroundings over time will give the familiar feeling.

Woke up around 4 this morning. So annoying.
Don't really have answers about making your house a home, unless there's some decorating you can do. I know, takes money. Maybe re-evaluate what you already have and how you're using (or not using) it. My house doesn't seem like a home right now because it's SO messy!! I've been out of town alot and need to play catch up this weekend. I don't like a "perfect" house, but I can't stand clutter either.
Food:
PB crackers
tuna salad
yogurt
something for supper (lol) don't know

I know how you feel Nik, we moved into our new house a year ago and it feels like a strangers home most of the time. I hung picutres of the family and that really did help so when I walk down the hall I see them hanging on the walls and it makes it feel more like home.
Anyway Thank you GOD it's Friday! this has been quite a week and I am DUNNN!!!!
Making a bazillion cupcakes tonight for my sisters wedding reception on Saturday so that will be fun, I really can't eat much of them because of all the sugar but making them for others to enjoy is just about as good![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/smile.gif)

My husband is in the military. In the (almost) nine years we have been married, we have lived in 5 different states, so I completely understand how you are feeling.
I find that home starts to feel like home once we get to know our neighbors. So I make my kids get outside with a soccer ball or (in the summer) we pull out a kid pool or slip-n-slide from the dollar store. We ride our bikes alot so people know us. Even if we aren't out doing something everynight, somehow this makes it feel like a place we belong. Does that make sense?
Also, I find it become home once I have people over. You can even invite people you already know from church or work, but mentally that makes this new place mine. I used to worry that my house was mis-matched or the furniture didn't fit quite right, but I am learning that people don't care so much if your home doesn't look like a page in a magazine. A good meal (and we ALL know you can COOK) and good conversation matter so much more. Maybe you could have a fall party or open house and invite some neighbors and old friends. It doesn't have to cost alot.
Hopefully that helps some. I know you are a working mom, and your kids are a little bit older than mine are, so you have alot going on
Anyway today I'm volunteering at the school. I'm the "copy mom" for my son's class. I think I need a job.
Food looks like this:
B: Protein coffee
L: I'm eating lunch with both kids today (I HATE sitting in the school cafeteria, but they like when I come and I will be there anyway) I will bring some ham and cheese roll ups, with some peppers and cucumbers.
S: I don't know...maybe carbmaster?
D: I'm trying a pinterest sweet and sour chicken, but I have to change it all up because it calls for alot of sugar. I hope its ok.
S: something sweet...maybe a hot protein cocoa.

Today is a laying low and inside. It's supposed to rain all day today, so I really don't want to take my daughter out in it. We won't melt--it's just annoying. LOL
Anyway, today I'm finalizing the wedding cake plans with my friends. They're getting married in a couple of weeks, so it will be a bit crazy juggling baking, decorating and taking care of my daughter. I'm actually looking forward to putting everything together--it will be fun. :)
For food today, here's the lowdown:
B: Egg white omelette with broccoli and cheese, and a little later, a cup of hazelnut coffee with SF Hazelnut coffee creamer
L: Veggie Burger with cheese
D: Not sure yet--we may go out to dinner
S: Ricotta with a Tbsp. of protein powder / a protein shake
