My Daughter is an alter server at church once a month, and let me tell you those Sundays are my favorite days to go to church.  I love watching her up there, thanking this very seriously, and singing all the hymn without looking in a book.  Just makes my chest swell with pride.  So today, I was so excited to go to Church.  I am 2 weeks out of surgery so I'm still moving kind of slow, worst part is getting up and sitting down, as soon as we got there I sat down and I thought..."oh Good Lord...do you know how many times I have to get up and down during this service! Priest walks in...stand.  Say a prayer...sit.  up...down...up ...down...up...down.  My husband by the end was almost in tears laughing at me cause I'm swearing in church! I think God will forgive me!  When it came time to kneel, I looked at my husband and said...NO WAY! lmao

Just thought I would share!

Wdoors occasionally asked to kneel at both of the two churches I sometimes attend, but because of me knee I don't participate.  I'm quite sure God understands.

While we're on the subject of church, how to handle communion? I'll be 4 wks post op the next time we have communion. I'm not Catholic so we serve communion in little, tiny communion cups. Some have grape juice, and some have wine. You can tell the wine because that is served in berry colored cups. Should I opt to take the grape juice, or the wine? I can't imagine the little amt of either would hurt me either way, but the thought hit me today while I was sitting in church as to what to do. The bread is usually a homemade loaf but we also serve gluten free crackers for those members who are gluten sensitive. So I don't know if I should tear a very tiny piece of the loaf bread or take a piece of one of the gluten free crackers. Any thioughts?

I go to a Baptist church and our pastor has us stand, sit, stand sit probably 5 -6 times a service. I am 1 week post op today. I could not do it. Luckily my pastor had RNY a couple of years ago so he understood!
