Am I doing something wrong?

My first month I lost 7 pounds... we all lose it in our own way... keep doing and eating how the doctor tells you to and the weight will come off. Trust us!

Oh - just another tidbit... when I hit a stall the first two questions the nut asked me is if I was getting enough liquids (they reccommend 64-80oz per day) and protein (they suggested 50-70 grams... I now get about 80-100 at 15 months out), and usually I wasn't doing those things. So, like Kelly said, you might want to do a liquid and protein revamp.

Are you suppose to be eating that much at 2 weeks out? I was on 3 tablespoons of food at 3 weeks out. I couldn't fit in a whole scrambled egg until I was at least a year out. I was told to work up to 1 cup of food per meal by one year out. I'm 11 yrs out now and still stick to the 1-1 1/4 cup of food per meal. I know you won't feel full or overfull at two weeks out yet as your nerves were cut during surgery and it takes weeks for them to grow back and be able to send you messages. I know at two weeks out it's almost impossible to get all the protein requiered in but we work up to that. I was also on food only for protein - no protein drinks or shakes as per my doc. It worked out for me - I used stores in my body until I got up to the 64 gms daily of protein my doc suggested. You may be eating too much right now to lose - I know my 3 tablespoons filled me up for the first 3 weeks, then I went to soft foods and worked up to 1/4 cup of food per meal (x 3 a day) by 3 months out. You don't want to overstretch your pouch and we don't need that much food if we want our body to start using stored fat for nutrition. check with your doc or nut and see if your portions are what they want you on at this point. Hang in there - the weight will come off.

Just as a data point, I'm two weeks out, and my surgeon has me on 3-4 ounces of _____ (protein shake, refried beans, etc) 6 times a day. I'm on purees now and one soft scrambled egg is on my list. I've been on 4 ounces ever since I was released to full liquids the day after I left the hospital. I guess all surgeons' plans are different!

lots more protein!

also there is no way I could have eaten 1 cup of anything at 2 weeks out..

I would add protein shakes in there also

I'm just slightly ahead of you (had surgery on 8/20/12). I had the exact same thing happen, I lost 10 lbs the first week, and then it just stopped. At that point my doctor hadn't prescribed a particular amount of protein, and told me to just listen to my body when I ate. I just want to offer you some encouragement, since I recently got out of my stall. IT WILL HAPPEN!! Just follow your doctors plan. Given the amount of calories you're eating, your body has to be burning fat. It is living off your excess fat, and if it wasn't, you'd be dead (that's exactly how my NUT put it when I was distraught). If you're following your doctor's plan, than you're not doing anything wrong. HANG IN THERE!!
