2 weeks out today. First week out I lost 12 lbs, but the scale has not moved since. Here's a sample of my daily intake

B-1 egg scrambled
L-1/2 cup of cottage cheese
S-1/2 cup unsweetend applesauce
D-Either 1 cup of ricotta with spaghetti sauce and Mozz (ff) or 1 cup refried beans with enchelada sauce and cheddar (ff)
S- Maybe..a sf popsicle

Plus about 40 0z of liquid intake water or crystal light

Well, you're not getting enough protein or liquids.  But that's not why the scale hasn't moved.  You won't lose weight every day or every week.  That's just how weight loss works.

I agree with Kelly, you definitely need to increase protein and fluids, now and in the long run. At almost 4 years out I still have a daily protein drink and at least 64 ounces of water.

I know that it is difficult in the beginning, but if you keep a water bottle handy and sip, sip, sip then it becomes habit and will be second nature in no time

So should I just add a protien drink (yuck) or substitute one of my meals with it? I am sitting here drinking one as I type. Trying to get more protien in..I have to be honest I don't typically drink one because I just can't seem to stomach them :( I also have tried and tried and tried to get my water in, and 40 oz is quite an improvment last week I was unable to even get in half of that so I am trying to slowly progress.....Thanks for the advice ladies!

I have to say that all protein drinks are not created equal!! I happen to like the Syntrax Nectars much better than the WalMart kinds. There are quite a few places that have single serve size samples available. Also, alot of the stores (Vitamin Shoppes, etc) that will take returns if you purchase them and don't like the taste. Another hint is to blend them with either water or milk and ice. Having them super cold helps if the flavor is even a little iffy. I would add the protein shake instead of substituting for something that you are eating. My favorite is the cappuccino with milk, it's kinda like a coffee frappe which happens to be my favorite. Pulsing the blending keeps it from getting foamy.....

As far as the water goes, I started with a shot glass and a timer that reminded me to pour an ounce or two ever 5 or 10 minutes. 2 ounces every 10 minutes is 12 ounces an hour X 10 hours a day is 120 ounces!!! Way more than the minimum needed of 64 ounces. A little at a time is much less daunting to look at than a 64 ounce (or even a 16 ounce) bottle. When I advanced beyond needing the shot glass, then I used a pretty glass of some sort. Sometimes it was a champagne flute!! It was just more fun that way

Try to do things that work and make it a little more fun than work

You won't lose if you don't get your water in. It takes a couple weeks to be able to get all 64 ounces in every day consistantly but you need to push the water. Flushing the fat out of the system means we need lots of water and we dehydrate easily so make sure you're getting enough.

 When did you have surgery?

I agree that you need more protein and water. I'm averaging between 65-90g a day at 5 weeks out. I don't always drink a protein shake, but I do keep it on hand in case I'm running low on my protein for the day. Have you tried different protein powders? Some are better than others, so it's trial and error to find one you like and can tolerate. Also, are you making it with regular milk or lactose-free milk? I had to switch to lactose-free milk for most things. An occasional regular milk is OK, but not everyday--otherwise, there are issues...yowza! LOL

It seems like you're eating a lot at dinner (but I'm basing that on my diet). Maybe if you break it up and have half for a snack, half for dinner? I'd forgo applesauce unless you're adding unflavored protein powder to it, IMO. It also helps me to eat every 3-4 hours so I have a steady food supply instead of eating at traditional meal times. Hope these help!

I agree with the other posters with regard to the protein intake. However, (and I realize I may catch hell for saying this) the volume seems to be VERY high for 2 weeks out.
At 2 weeks out my plan stated 2 ounces - which would equal 1/4 cup. I don't think that now at 12 weeks out that I could eat a whole cup of food. Yes, I understand that all plans are different but I really didn't think we could eat a cup of food at 2 weeks.

The sugar free popsicle, at 2 weeks, I probably had about 10 per day - this added to my fluid intake. They are about 1 and 3/4 ouncs each. Are you able to do a protein shake in place of the popsicle as a snack?

As far as the scale moving, it will come off if you follow your plan.

Follow YOUR surgeon's plan - you know what that is and no one on here should encourage you to do anything else, especially this early out!

Re-read your eating instructions to make sure you are getting the amounts and types right and relax about the not losing weight thing ...  Not losing anything in the first few weeks is very common and is in no way related to what you eating!!!!

I know that everyone's mileage varies... but there is no way I could have eaten that much two weeks out.  But I echo everyone else... more fluids definitely...
