Wow. That's horrible! I, like many here, know the love of a dog. If you'd like, I'd be MORE than happy to look around Maryland for what you're looking for if you wanna message me specifics? It wouldnt hurt to expand your search area and I wouldn't mind a little road trip with something that cute in my car. :) Let me know, I'd love to be able to help you out in any way I can. I can look in Virginia, DC, Pennsylvania, and Delaware if you'd like. They're all within an hour of me. I just want you to be happy again. :)
Mel.

I appreciate the offer but Chow puppies run between $1000 and $2000, so I really want to"collect" in the health guarantee of the one I originally bought (which provides a free replacement puppy).

Why does it matter if its red or male, all chows are aggressive, atleast the insurance companies think so, so if you feel unsafe why not take any they have?  Taking a gun course and buying a pistol might help also, I know after my house was broken into I felt violated and couldn't sleep, its half the reason I gave my son my house and I don't live there.

It matters that it is male because I do not want the expense and hassle of having a female spayed. I was willing to take a cream OR a red, but there is a waiting list for the cream ones as well. I don't like the black, blue, and cinnamon ones. I bought a red male and I was (am) willing to take a red or cream male as replacement but even the cream males that were born the day I was last there have been sold to the people on that list.

It matters because a) it is what she wants  b) it is what she paid good money for on the belief she was being provided a healthy dog that she would have for at least 10-12 years, but lost at less than 2

and c) because it is what she wants

I am so sorry - that really sucks. Is there anyway to get a written contract from her on when the next dog will be yours?

Not likely.  I couldn't even get a straight answer on exactly how many people the were above me who ALLEGEDLY had been waiting so long for red male puppies.

I'm so sorry Lora. I can't even imagine how unsafe the recent events must make you feel and coupling that with the anger/hurt over the dog situation... well, I think anybody would be reeling.

I hope you somehow reach a resolution/solution with the breeder soon. Unitl then, take care of you the best you can.

Thanks. The timing of this stinks. I sent the breeder a aecond message today (forwarding my original mail from May 15th telling them that I was putting Khan down and wanted a puppy as soon as one is available) and just told them that I am having trouble understanding how I went from "the next red male is yours" to a couple of people who have been waiting "a long time" getting puppies before me, to NOW where a woman whose puppy is NOT a replacement who put in her deposit two weeks before my email is getting her puppy first.

I just flat out told them that I wish they would just be honest with me about how many other people are going to be getting puppies before I am and that a number of people have suggested to me that they have no intention of giving me a replacement puppy until they have an "extra" one with no one on the waiting list. I also told them that I did NOT believe they would do that unless I seriously misjudged them... And that I do not think that I did... But that I am struggling to understand and explain this latest development.

It will probably **** them off... And maybe the reason I didn't get this puppy was that i had the argument in mid-August with the husband and having to wait even longer for a puppy is my "punishment"... But I don't think it unreasonable to ask for an explanation after being lied to twice.
