Closer, but still no puppy; feeling unsafe; eating crap UPDATE: angry now!

The breeder has had another litter of puppies, and according to a post on their Facebook page, there is at least one person who will be getting a red male from the litter, but she got her phone call on the 9th and I have not received one, so still no Chow puppy for me.  The next litter that might have a red puppy is from a very small male, and Khan's size was part of what helped me feel safe... But I will, of course, take the first puppy available and just hope that he grows to be a good size.

Something occurred about a week ago that made it pretty clear that the men who attacked me attacked another woman in the area... So that, in combination with not having Khan, has made me feel unsafe the past week (and is affecting my sleep).  I have no appetite for anything healthy... Just craving crap to eat.  I am trying to be "good" but it has been stressful.

Just venting...

UPDATE: The woman who just got the call about a red male  just posted that she only out her deposit down in MAY!  Yet I was told that the people who were ahead of me had been waiting a very long time for puppies and that is why they are ahead of me.  I ALSO notified her that I was going to have to put Khan down and wanted a replacement puppy IN MAY!  Yet this woman got a puppy before I did!!!!!  I am SO HURT AND ANGRY!  And I want a cookie...

My god, Lora. I don't know what it was that happened to you in the past but I did read your posts about your dog. Don't worry. The right puppy is out there somewhere, waiting to be born. He'll come in time. If you lived near me, I'd sit up in a chair at your door all night and stand guard for you. :)

Cheer up. I know that's not the best thing to say right now. But I'll be thinking about you. :)

You are more than worth the effort to fight through the cravings and mood food. I hope things work out sooner rather than later for a puppy - I can totally relate to having a dog there to make everything feel safer.

If having a dog makes you feel safe and is a preventative factor against self-destructive behavior (the food) and overall enriches your life, get a dog. Cause you know what, from your posts about this a-hole sounding breeder, I don't think she has any intention of following through with the contract and replacing Khan. It sounds to me like instead of thinking of it as fulfilling the contract and her duty as a responsible business owner she's got the mentality "wahh I don't want to give this lady a free dog, if I just jerk her around long enough maybe she'll get fed up and go away."

Be direct with her and try to pin down a timeframe. No vague crap. She will supply you with a replacement companion by... ? Or she needs to refund your money. Also take screenshots of facebook and save those emails to show that she's done nothing to get you a new dog but has been selling them to others. Cause if it were me, I'd get a dog from another breeder at this point (cause I don't think you're gonna get one from her) and if the laws in your state make it feasible I'd sue her ass to recoup the money.

I'm a single mum and am currently dogless - I get where you are coming from ...

I have been looking after my son's dog who has been making me feel very secure, but he was "injured" 4 weeks ago and we have just discovered that what we thought was a pulled muscle is in fact a tumour and the worst is suspected - we get the full diagnosis tomorrow!

I have been looking at all the local rescues but I have to make the right decision because of my son who has autism and is very picky about the dogs he likes and doesn't like!

I don't know how you deal with the breeder - small claims court, maybe?   I hope you can get the situation sorted asap - dogs are great companions and protectors.
