I'd like to propose that we stop trying to avoid repetitive posts...
Whatever your problem, issue, thought, inspiration — post it! There may be someone who didn’t see the last one but they see yours and it helps them.
One thing I personally would ask…please…for the love of all that is good and holy…PLEASE BE CLEAR IN YOUR SUBJECT TITLE!!!
If you are posting about a stall, use the word “stall" in your title. If you are posting about an NSV (non-scale victory) put that. Before/after pictures, anger posts, ANY post. The clearer you are in your subject title, the easier it is for folks to decide what posts they want to read and respond to and the less *****y we all get about repetitive threads.
Cuz personally I don’t care how many “XXX lbs. gone forever!" posts appear on the board. But I am thankful for folks who name those threads appropriately because while I am thrilled for you, I’ve done it a million times. But in the same token, I WANT YOU TO HAVE YOUR MOMENT! So by naming things appropriately, you get your moment and I can experience the board the way I want to.
But please don’t refrain from posting because you think something has been asked too many times. This site doesn’t make it easy to research things and to me the only “dumb" question is the one you never asked.

The RNY board is by FAR the busiest board on OH currently. There is no way to respond to every post so having a clear title to the thread helps tremendously for others to help if they can and to give us an idea of what is needed.

The only comment/opinion I have to add is that there are some "vets" on this board that seem to live/love to point out repetitive threads/silly questions etc from the newbies. My advice to the newbies would be keep on posting your questions, victories, stalls etc. because there is someone out there that will be helpful. And to the vets that have seen/heard it all, skip over if you don't want to read the messages, don't comment if you have answered the same questions over and over.
This board is no different from other boards (of any subject matter) where people come and go, some stay for a long time, have something of value to provide and others that want to "run" the board and be in control. These message boards are all voluntary participation, free speech if you will, if you see something you need then use it as you see fit. If you have a comment just be respectful, I think that is the least we can all expect from the folks we encounter here. No one should ever feel that their messages are not of value or stupid. I'm not singling any one person out....just an observation.
I never open or answer the favourites - stalls, shakes etc or the ones where posters "name" who'd they'd like to answer - it saves my lovely head from exploding
I think newbies should post til their heart's content ... remembering how important the subject line is in determining the quality and quantity of answers you will be getting!

One of the reasons why I have only made, I think 2 or 3 threads, in 8 years is because I tend to be someone *****searches the hell out of something before I open myself up to asking anything, and I do understand the feeling that newbies want to feel part of the community and the best way to do that is to post frequently!
Also, I rarely put myself "out there" with personal stuff - because maybe I don't really want to hear everyone's opinions - and I would caution people on here not to overshare on a subject they feel sensitive about - you WILL get all and every opinion on your boyfriend's behaviour, your love life, kids behaviour etc if you ask !!!
