Did they tell you to use one? I didn't have to use one, but I had to do clear liquids only from 5PM to midnight the day before surgery, and nothing by mouth after midnight leading up to surgery.
You will want to use it! The first time trying to "go" afterwards can be very difficult and painful for most people. I know for me I had to put Miralax in my coffee everyday for the longest time. There is still some days, where I need to have a dose or two.
