For what it's worth I am not surprised. But here is the text:

She's baaaaack!

After two years off from cajoling plus-size contestants into shedding pounds by any means necessary, Jillian Michaels has returned to The Biggest Loser for its 14th season, which kicks off in January. The new edition will also lower the age requirement to 13, although those contestants on the younger side of the spectrum can't be eliminated from the series and won't be weighed on national television.

Ok so my initial reaction to opening the show up to younger folks is...um...I am not thinking it will work well. Part of the appeal is the competitive part. I could TOTALLY get behind a spin-off, but I sense a lot of huggy-feely moments and less drama and - DAMMIT! - the drama is why I watch!!!

Cuz really? How unrealistic is it to work out six hours a day and drop that much weight? I mean for the average Joe...

So I ain'****ching it for inspiration so much as the snark factor so...yeah. I will have to see how this goes.

I think the Biggest Loser is a load of junk. It's not realistic and they set up most of the people for failure. Makes me feel bad watching it too. But then again, I'm a huggy-feely type of person.

Nik, I thought of you when I read this earlier!  I'm glad she's coming back.

I am hesitant about the "kid" factor.....just don't see that working....we'll see....I'm like you, I love to find the contestants I'm gonna hate all season.....need the drama!

I always hoped that everyone would 'reward' their way to the end. That way, people couldn't be deceitful to get people eliminated. If everyone was reimbursed 'x' amount of dollars per pound lost rather than the big prize, then more people would have the benefit of ranch time to get a more solid start.
They could give an extra prize for the weekly top percentage loser and prize competitions, during the week. The only requirement would be that you have to keep making progress (so someone doesn't just try to get some time away from home).

As far as the kids, there will probably be some crazy parents around to provide the drama that ye seek.

I'm not sure that they should air any of it, someone is going to crack...and will have to return home after having something personal aired on the tv. I will be watching to see how this unfolds.
