OT - You ever have something start out being funny but then...
This isn't anyone's fault. I think it's just an indicator of the level of stress I live with on a day to day basis but today I made a discovery. When I got my dog the girls picked it out and we took it home and named it Nana and I'd been so busy shuffling every one here there and everywhere that I just was sort of going through the motions like a machine. Well today, one week after picking up the dog I'm in the back yard watching her dig around and play and..."she" has boy parts. My dog is a boy. And I am just now noticing this.
And it was funny at first. I even posted it on FB. Even now academically I know it's a funny thing to go around calling your dog a girl when it's a boy.
But as it sunk in, it began to feel like yet another place in my life where I was not paying attention or was inadequate. That sounds crazy, I know, but that's the way it feels. Like "you damn dummy, you don't even know the gender of your own dog."
Anyway, I know this is all very mental but I had to let it out into the universe. I think as my mom's birthday gets closer I'm going to have more random moments of completely inexplicable feelings. I'll try to be judicious about my whining.
Thanks for listening.

PS the dog does not care that you did not know it was a boy...he cares that you treat him well and love him which I am sure you did not forget to do....everything will be okay

But I do get how sometimes that little, inconsequential thing can just be the icing on the cake sometimes. Hang in there!
They ended up transferring her to the front desk, where she had an easier time performing all the job duties.
