Need Help Fast!

Not sure how it'll be combined with RNY, but I had mine removed laproscopically about 20 years ago - in fact, they were just beginning to do it that way. I had absolutely no problems whatsoever. I don't even remember being very sore at all. Had the surgery on a Thursday, was back at work on Monday.
Back in the dark ages, gall bladder removal was a nightmare - it was an open procedure, you had a huge scar, and it took a long time to heal, but I think it's rarely done anymore.
I think you'll be fine, and I'm wishing you all the luck in the world!

For some docs taking it out at the time of gastric bypass is the norm. You won't miss it and you won't have to worry about gall stones later on. It's getting two things taken care of at one time.
It's nothing to worry about, many have had it done without any complications. You'll be fine. Nice that your doc is taking such good care of you - removing it if it will be a problem later.
