OT - My favorite quote (super-relevant that HAPPENS to be from the bible)

Howzzat? Cuz when I posted this I didn't know it was from the bible. Although it should not surprise me. My grandma used to say this to me when I was little and she was a devout Catholic, however it was never presented to me as a bible quote so I just thought it was one of those "universal truths of my grandma." (Doesn't everyone have those?)

"Unto whom much is given, much is required."

This quote has such literal meaning in my WLS life. I was given a "do-over" of sorts. The chance to develop healthy habits and live a healthier life. What is required, I often find so hard to do even though it isn't that hard: take a few vitamins a day, drink some water, move my body on a regular basis.

So what do you all think about this quote in relation to your lives/processes?

That's one of my favorites Nik.  It's actually taken from a bible verse.

But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more. (Luke 12:48 NKJV)

Well...that was a fail.

I suppose even when I don't know I am quoting from the bible, I am. I'm changing the thread title. I wouldn't want anyone being bum rushed by the bible...

Maybe coin a new phrase: "Christianophobe"

 You said it, I didn't!

LOL.

See...the thing is I totally get that folks wouldn't want to be caught off guard by a bible quote. So I think clarity in the subject line is key. With said clarity, I don't get the animosity toward it but I think I am just slow on the uptake that way.

I think that would be a legitimate phrase to use for people who are confused and think that freedom of religion means freedom FROM religion. We all know the reason they don't want to believe in God is that then they and everyone else will have to be accountable for their actions some day. That's a scary thought to many. They miss the point of Jesus and see God as a hateful monster when he is the epitome of love. Very sad.
