5 years post-op today (warning: long!)
Thanks so much for sharing. I really neeed to read your story tonight. I am 20 months out and have a bad knee also. I know I would be using a walker if I had not had the surgery. Biking seems to help with my pain and mobility more than anything. I wanted to be at 155 and a size 12 by now but I am 189 -192 and a 14-16 .Hopefully I will continue to loose as time goes by but sometimes like tonight I just wish the damn scale would move.
Happy Surgiversary Lora! You are one of the greatest contributors to this site - I always enjoy your posts, and this one was no exception.
Thanks for telling it like it is; sharing the reality that post-op life isn't even close to a bed of roses is SO important. And the fact that you still feel it was "worth it" is so good to hear. I have had my own health struggles, but I too would do it again in a heartbeat.
I have my life back.
I will never stop being grateful for my RnY. It's great to hear others even farther out are still happy and doing so well=)

Happy Birthday Lora! Happy Surgiversary, too!
You are a true hero in this journey. Taking each new moment and making the best of it.
I know there have been complications, some caused by the drastic weight loss and others caused by conditions of life and age. You tackle each one with grace and dignity.
I have learned much from reading your words. Thank you.
Vicky
