I have donated most of my clothes already but I have a nice size bag of my nicer clothes, some with tags, expensive brands (Hydraulic Jeans, etc.) and I would like to start selling them. I have lsited one item so far. Just looking for any advise on how to market it and how to decide a $ amount for reserve.

No, I haven't but I'm also considering it. Perhaps, even craigslist or consignment shops may be other alternatives.

In my area there are several groups on Facebook.  They do pretty well, from what I can tell.  Maybe something to consider??

I went to local resale shops and they want half of what an item sales for.   I looked at Ebay and it doesn't appear that clothes sell very well as most have no bids against them.  However, I didn't think there was anything all that special.  I am like you in that I have a lot of high end clothes and a lot with tags.   I took pictures, listed the items and donated for a tax write off.  My husband figured we'd get more in write off than what I would get in cash.  He has a program on our pc that he's been listing my clothes as we donate them and we are up to $900 thus far in tax credit.  If you do the long tax from, you may want to consider doing this.

I have not sold a lot of things on Ebay, but what I have sold I did very well on.  Better than what I received through a Consignment shop.

I have!! What I find makes a clothing listing more successful is if you can do a "Lot" sale. Meaning several items in your listing. Take Several pix from various angles---show tags still on clothing and show any discrepancies on the clothing if any. I always list my items as bids and not rely so much on the Reserve price...I find it deters potential shoppers. Typically if you start the bid off at a penny people become competitive and it can start a shopping frenzy! Good luck!!

OH!! Also......if you keep your options open to  APO addresses and some other countries you will find that military people who may be restricted to their shopping possibilities are AWSUM customers!! Sometimes they are in locations that dont offer many choices :-)

I had luck on Craigslist. I took my high end stuff to a consigment store and they bought what was left from the craigslist haul. The craigslist was a godsend I had a girl at a bank she came down took what she wanted and sent down co workers.  I looked like the people selling handbags out of my trunk only it was size 22-28 size clothes LOL.
Try CL first I would suggest and FB groups. If no luck donate don't spend to much time on it because donating is where you will get the most bang for your buck!

I went to a specality plus size consigment this weekend frove 45 minutes to get there. I have alot of nice clothes. TONS of jeans very good condition some never even worn!! Nice sweaters dressy tops, and a super nice winter vest....al they want is dress clothes.

These people dont realize that there are SO MANY heavy younger ladies Im sure these clothes I have would really sell.... Its sad. I may try ebay. I have so much stuff I spent so much money on.

The store I went to, had an "older" style more alfered dunner type slacks etc. I was SO dissapointed they had a few decent jeans but they were to big. Tooooo bad they dont take some younger styles.

Craigslist totally scares me
