Since I am on a roll...the secret to maintaining a good workout schedule

Show up.

Honestly it's that simple. Just show up. The rest tends to work itself out.

If you do the gym thing, just get your ass to the gym. If you workout on the Wii, get your ass on that balance board and press power. Just. Show. UP!

For me, if I can just get myself to show up, I go pretty hard at whatever it is I choose to do. If I decide to go walking as long as I get out there I will walk infinitely. If I do the gym, if I can just get there it's hard to get me back OUT until the place closes.

Etcetera, etcetera. Just show up. That's often the hardest part. Once you overcome that, you'll be surprised what you are willing to do.

Absolutely.  Getting there is 98% of the battle.  If I can talk myself into getting dressed, chances are I'm gonna pick up my keys.  And if I pick up my keys I'm probably gonna get in my car.  Well, if I'm in the car I'm going to drive toward the gym, and most likely park.  At which point I PROBABLY have to pee and might as well go in.

And, well, once I'm in I just get it done.

OMG I am not the only one who has to pee when she gets to the gym.

You know, I don't know my bio dad's side of the family... and they are from up North (anything above Texas on the map is The North to me!).

But yes.  Even if I have to sit there and NOTHING comes out, I have to at least attempt a pee.

I read a running book that sad when you dont want to run, just gte dressed and lace up your shoes.  If you still dont want to run, fine.   If can get dressed and my shoes on, I am gone.  :-)

If I get my shoes on and I still don't want to do it I make myself do it and then torture myself tremendously with horrible horrible interval sprints at 8.0 and 8.5.

Then tell myself that's what I get for not wanting to workout.  I end up feeling so damn good afterwards it's not really a "punishment" after all.

I agree!  When I get home from work, I drop the purse/briefcase, pee, feed the cat and change into workout clothes.  I'm 90% guaranteed to do SOMETHING at that point.

I am an at home workout person,so I cannot turn on the TV-I have to either go down to the basement (home gym) or drive to my fave running spot.

Like Nike says, "JUST DO IT".

You are so right. I don't even leave my bedroom unless I am dressed (other than the bathroom which is part of our bedroom). My sneakers are are at the foot of the stairs before I get to the kitchen. After i put on my work out clothes everything else is automatic.

When I go downstairs in pajamas I'm usually gonna be wearing them all day.
