Two (of many) laws of maintaining sanity on a WLS message board

#1: Think of snowflakes. Why? Cuz no two post-ops are ever exactly the same!

Some will have more appetite than you, some less. Some will lose faster than you, some slower. Some will have things in their plan that are not in yours. Some will have attitudes that don't mesh with yours. Reading others experiences can put things into context for us, but only compare you to YOU and follow the rules YOUR surgeon set forth (to the extent possible) and follow YOUR personal standards. I may lose gobs of weight eating sugar-free Oreos every day (EXAMPLE people!) but that does not mean you will or should try to!

#2: Be like a sponge (that gets wrung out very often)

You'll see a lot of advice, plans, ways of living, eating, exercising. Soak up what you think can help you, release everything else. You'll go crazy trying to do this plan and that plan and the other plan.

Good advice..thanks for posting!!

It will hurt. It will take time. It will require dedication. It will require willpower. It requires sacrifice. There will be temptation. But, I promise you, when you reach your goal, it's WORTH IT! (Author Unknown). I feel this sums up my ongoing journey to a healthier me!
