Are you doing the Run for Your Lives race in Missouri? I really wanted to do the one in PA at the beginning of September, but I'm already making one trip to Pittsburgh the week after and don't think I can swing it two weeks in a row.

Instead, I opted to run Warrior Dash in VA in late September. Really wanted to try Spartan race too but it's EXPENSIVE. I think my last event for the season will probably be AIDS Walk Washington in October.

Good luck outrunning the zombies; hope you cross the finish line alive!

Stretch stretch stretch.  And stretch again.  I love Biofreeze or ChinaGel, but it sounds like Absorbine is similar to that.  I also love those bar rollers things.  I can sit and zone out forever just rolling that over sore muscles.  I also have a foam roller for larger muscles.

Mmm, that looks deliciously painful.  I found knots--they're low on my bicep, above the elbow, right where the two bicep muscle join. Big knots, too, the size of eggs. I'm a massage therapist and I know a few tricks to release them, but so far, none of them have worked longterm, so I just keep working on them, hoping repetition will be the trick. I've got a tennis ball I've been digging into my arms, and that seems to be helping a little.  I'm going to do some pushups tonight and try to get those muscles warmed back up.

Will you be my new BFF?

I keep tennis balls that I roll between my back and the wall.  But that roller bar... heaven on sore muscles!

My husband is having a rough week so I made him crispy rice squares last night. It's a really good thing that those aren't the worst treat you could have, because I certainly indulged in several. Calorie intake was better than it's been and protein was up, but I really REALLY need to lay off of the sweets.

I rode my bike for seven miles this morning before work. I'm very anxious on it and get wobbly when I slow down, but it was less nerve wrecking being on the trail than on a street. I still like running better, but I'm banned until this ankle/achilles thing is straightened out.

Food:
Breakfast: Coffee
Lunch: Roasted chicken or turkey and salad. Maybe a piece of tuna nigiri.
Dinner: I don't know. We're going over to my husband's parents' house to visit and might just pick something up on the way home. The Peruvian chicken place sounds good.
Snack: I want to stick to my yogurt and fruit and an almond milk pudding (with more plain yogurt for protein). If I'm craving savory, I'll go for an egg with Canadian bacon and an oz. of wheat toast.

I will get back on track. I know I can do it, it's just a matter of not saying "screw it," when I make one bad choice. Hope everyone has a great Thursday!

It's so funny too, because it's just this tiny white hut on the side of Route 7. The sign is plain red lettering and says "The Chicken Place." All they sell are rotisserie chickens out of a wood-fired oven, yucca fries, a vegetable, and rice pilaf. We never would have given it a second look but one night I was driving home by myself and saw that there was a big line inside. What a find!

We have no less than 3 bikes sitting in the garage.  I should pull one out, fix it up and get my butt out there on the road.  There's no reason not to and it's something different to do...

Ah Elvis. Been so many years now. RIP.

For food I sound like a broken record this week:

wake up-Grande Skinny Cinnamon Dolce from Bux
B-The last of the pintos with ham
L-Yep...BF zucchini fritters (still have 2 more at home!), some pepperoni chips w/hummus
S-I have a huge nectarine or greek yogurt in strawberry
D-Turkey burgers made with onion with mushroom gravy. DH will have potatoes. And I am thinking some spinach for us.

Night snack-I have some skinny cow mint ice cream sandwiches. Really shouldn't buy those anymore. If they are in the house I will eat one everyday if I don'****ch it. I haven't had one in 2 days so I know I will tonight.

Still kinda down but hoping for an upswing in my mood. It's my Friday so that's a good start.

Have a great day everyone!

Oh, and I am wearing a dress! I haven't worn one to work in years. I broke both feet prior to WLS so I have issues with pain and misshapen feet. Making shoes very tricky. Actually have a dr's note on file at work so I can wear athletic shoes most of the time. Not really dress friendly. But I have some sandals that so far have not been too bad.

So Friday and a dress...those are helping the mood! No longer hoping for an upswing, dammit! I am going to have an upswing in mood! "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and dog gone it-people like me!"-Stuart Smalley
