Still working through my depression and fatigue. I might eat the inside of a pot pie. It is soft. I need to go grocery shopping.

Went to Chapel services at my sons new school. Then the twins and I came back home. I have managed to fold 1 load of laundry and make the beds and that is it. I used to get offended when people would say "double trouble" when they were little, but now it is a different story!! That's why I call them Thing 1 and Thing 2. Omgosh! I can't wait for school to start for them. It will give me a 3 hour break from chasing/cleaning up after them plus they need all of their therapies.  We never had the terrible 2's but once hey hit 3 it's been all over since. LOL.

BF: Coffee Protein shake
more coffee
Lunch: Protein shake
Snack: quest bar
Dinner???
Snack if I need one: Greek yogurt with some SF strawberry preserves + a handful of fiber one (sorry Nik!)

Yesterday was high carb, so I am trying extra hard to dial it down today. If I can forego my late night mint cookie I should be under 30g.
After helping my mom this morning I took my bike (perhaps "Carlita" ? ) out to the beach to get some photos. I am going to use the pics as my thank you cards for my team that chipped in to help me buy her. Then I went by the bike shop and dropped her off for a tune up before the weekend.
I planned to nap when I got home, but my mom's home health nurse was there so I couldn't get my mom in her recliner until the nurse left. As the nurse was leaving she stopped to talk to my about a 5k in March for Down Syndrome kids - her daughter has Downs. I told her to make sure I get the information and I would definitely be glad to participate.
Wor****il - I don't know, midnight or 0100.

Ok, Lori I watched your posts yesterday. Unless you ate vastly differently than you posted, yesterday was NOT a high carb day. I refuse to sit around while you drink the same rancid Kool-Aid I drank.

Firstly, the body needs a certain number of carbs to function. I heard straight from the chief nutritionist at Bariatric Advantage this very fact. While, yes, your percentage of calories from protein should be significantly HIGHER than your carb count, you do need carbs for things like...um...brain function.

Also, you KNOW that different carbs work differentLY in your system. Your system will not react the same way to a zucchini slice as it will to a potato chip or a cookie. You know this.

So I am not sure where  this 30g of carbs stuff is coming from BUT I think you are making this thing more difficult than it needs to be. (I also know this is going to fall on deaf ears because when I was where you are now it would have).

These days I eat intuitively and my protein/carbs/fat tend to fall into perfect balance just eating what it is I am wont to eat. I pray it gets to be that way for you. Because cutting protein shakes because of too many carbs just seems strange to me. I'm not saying eat mega-carbs but there has to be a happy medium in here somewhere dear.

I am worried about you. You are now on my list. That is all.

Uh oh

It's just that I have had anywhere from 150- over 200g of carbs a day for a while.  I don't know if I am at a stall or finishing up losing (1yr out tomorrow) and a former bodybuilder said to try doing 5 days of lower than 30g carbs, a high day, and then some more low days to see if that would make anything happen.  So I have been trying.

I usually get most of my carbs from vegetables and fruit, but lately there has been a lot of P28, waffles, pancakes, deli flats, etc (whole wheat... but still more often than is probably reasonable).  So I just thought I needed to back away from carbs, this guy threw out a number.... *shrug*

I do miss my green beans, squash and fruit though

Yes, see that's the "all or nothing" mentality. You had 150-200 so now you're doing 30?

Why not shoot for a more reasonable number? I know mine tend to run between 75-100 a day with 30g of fiber (and I don't do that damn Benefiber. My fiber comes from FOOD!). Not saying you should do what I do. Do what YOU do. But all or nothing does. Not. WORK!

ETA: what the bodybuilder is referring to is "calorie cycling." Which works well for many folks. But our metabolic systems are sorta different, especially in the first 18 mos or so post-op.

What you say makes sense, as usual -  I guess I just am at a point of being ok with my current weight, but not wanting to settle if I can do something to lose more.  I don't want to be a person of extremes - so I guess I am just trying to "find myself" with all of this.   I do know I could never sustain this low carb -- I love veggies and fruit too much!
