I hope you are so right. I do know that if I go up in insulin .......my weight goes up as well. I am just scared about weight gain. Not so much what it states on the scale but what it does to my blood sugars,
I do have RH and it keeps me mindful of my carbs... MOST of the time. I just hate what happens to me. It can "steal" anywhere from an hour to several hours out of my day. I had it happen today just before doing a group therapy. I had a Starbucks chocolate/protein smoothie with skim milk and sugar free chocolate... but I guess with the banana and the sugars in the milk it still did a number on me.
I also hate the way I feel when I overeat. I joke about how when non-ops overeat they loosen their belts... when I overeat I hafta take my bra off cuz my stomach is way up there now... LOL
I feel like I am developing good habits in the short time that I have been on my journey. I read labels (never did before), get more than enough protein and really watch my carbs.
I have a long way to go with some other good habits I need to start developing... but I at least feel that some of the bad habits I had are being replaced over time.

I haven't had my RNY yet but this thread suggests that 4 years out you can almost eat anything you want' only you fill up faster than you did before the operation. Hard to imagine a person could lose 200 lbs and gain it all back a few years down the road.
What about sugars...fats...dumping, etc. A few years after the operation does any food go down? And do you still have to chew chew chew every bite into mush? They didn't mention that in the pre-op sessions I went to.

I certainly do NOT chew everything to mush - yuk! I eat like a normal person, not someone who scarfs down their food, barely chewing, but someone who enjoys every bite - savouring the flavour and texture ...
I still dump and certainly do have foods that are off limits - cereal with mil**** cream, high sugar desserts, fried foods etc but after 8 years and being type II diabetic, I really don't miss them at all! Feeling good and good about myself is waaay better than those foods ...
