Ooh.  The punishment fits the deed.  Wait until it's a teenager... especially if you are getting grey NOW!

It is my wonderful Baby girl!

I am pretty sure that giving the state of things now there isn't anything as a teenager I won't be able to handle with her.

Paul,

If you don't mind me asking, was fertility an issue pre-op?  It is for my husband; he had his RNY surgery on 5/7/12.  There is not a whole lot of studies that show increased male fertility post weight loss.  Just curious.

I ALWAYS eat mindfully - everything is always portioned out. I can eat a fair amount of crap (like crisps etc) but choose not to.

I remember ******g someone off not so long ago because I talked about an oil slick in the toilet - his surgeon had told him there was no such thing as malabsorption - I hope he has engaged a good attorney cos I'm buggered if I'd let someone re-arrange my digestive system *just* to malabsorb vitamins!!!!!! I smile when I see that oil slick as I know that fat is not sticking to my ass!

I think *most* people can solve their RH fairly simply - eat like we're supposed to - always protein before carbs and NEVER just carbs!!!! Voila - mine was fairly simply resolved and I really don't suffer with it at all ... For me, it's a choice and not something I *have* to suffer!

I really do live a simple food life - not perfect by any means, but pretty darned good and healthy - I really have no desire to outeat my RNY and live quite happily with the restrictions put on me by it ...

That was the first post you ever did where the Brit came out in full force. It was the Olympics wasn't it? LOL.

I agree. But I see so many freak outs about regain and I guess it's just perspective. Yes, you can regain and you can look at it that way. You can also look at it as you have this lifelong tool to help you. So use it!

I am fairly complicated food-wise. But thankfully this process has introduced me to the joy of clean(er) eating and fresh, whole foods.

I wholly blame The Olympics and Al Roker's daily English lessons LOL!!!

If you notice my posts I often do a lot of editing because I tend to write in English, post it and then re-read it and have to edit it to translate into American - I did change arse to ass on this one and thought I was done

I say arse all the time. Perhaps I was British in a former life? Dunno.

1. Yep, I do think WLS makes you more mindful but besides that............there is no way I could eat as much as I could before surgery.  Example:  If I pushed it I could eat a large pizza by myself before surgery.  after surgery if I pushed it, maybe 1/2 large pizza ................maybe?

2.  The nurse at my clinic stated that we would always have some sort of malabsorption of fat.  How much?  Who knows?  And, is it enough to make any real difference?

3.  Don't have RH as of yet but been a diabetic for more than 25 years, so I have always eaten protein with every meal..  I have always been a protein *****

I am really counting on this tool helping me not regain but I don't know................  I think there is some people that work hard and still regain for what ever reason beyond their control.

I have only met one person among hundreds of post-ops where their regain truly was not of their own doing at least in part.

Just like for me and my bounce, I have to embrace the fact that Denial is a river in Egypt. It has no place in my thought process! So all that is to say most folks *****gained, if they got real with themselves, could probably figure out why.
