DOWNPOURS AND MY FLOODED GARDEN...

Rain drops the size of rocks pelted down creating major floods and traffic jams .... as well as detours....

This is the view from my driver side window trying to get home from work on Friday and we just had a double dose of rain on top of that YIKES...the entire road had to be blocked off to get on the highway and traffic was backed up for hours trying to get on the post road .....

I worried about my poor zucchini plants and tomatoes and my poor garden that my husband and friend so meticulously take care of ..

Well DH and DS are not home and I hate venturing out back there but when the rain let up I peeked .... just yesterday morning I bought zucchini and tomatoes from my garden for a friend at work and I fretted worrying whether I killed the plants or not because I DO NOT HAVE A GREEN THUMB ... and vegetation wither as soon as I come in contact with it ... I can't win for trying ...

My garden is FLOODED .... and on the ground I meandered in quicksand-like dirt to pick these up that the heavy rain knocked down...

AWESOME zucchini and tomatoes from my garden ... and I ran back inside .... I hope hope hope these lovely plants survive until their term ....

Look how big and awesome these are .... and from my own garden WOOT .... we shall have zucchini casserole with crushed tomatoes/basil/rosemary and three cheeses for dinner again YUM!

I did not do much today and will be vegging the rest of the day ... my morning was tied up in zumba then I went over to the main shop to pick up some long straight wigs for a sista on here and of course I picked up an outrageously long one for moi that I shall rock with a gown should the storms stay gone and DH and I go out tonight....

This is my picture entry in my journal A Picture a Day Keeps the Pounds And the Inches Away today...

Our garden is soaked too. Heavy rains for 2 days here in our part of Michigan. Did manage to wander around the edges and picked almost 2 bushels of corn this morning. Hubby is planing on laying some planks so we can get to some of the tomato and pepper plants that really need picking. The cabbage and cauilflower heads are above the water but if we can't get rid of some of the standing water soon it won't be long until the plants start rotting out from the bottom. Our garden is close to 3/4 an acre so we stand to lose a lot. Hope you can salvage your garden and enjoy those fresh veggies.
