I don't think WLS works the same way for everybody
I have a quick add.....I have a friend who assists a plastic surgeon who specializes in reconstruction post WLS - anyway she told me that on average people carry 10-15lbs of excess skin after the extreme weight loss - so that being said - you can pretty much consider yourself 10-15 lbs lighter than you think you are......the skin is the culprit.
Just a thought!

Ok, then that puts me at 186. Which is still like 40 lbs heavier than the rest of you!
But thank you for pointing that out. It is an important factor.
So wait...when I was 172 I was really 157? WOOT!

My surgeon and i had a talk about this at my 3 month follow up today. He gave me his goal for me which is about 37lbs more than my goal for myself. He said that I am tracking for his goal within a year, and that he honestly doesn't know about my own goal for myself. He's not detering me from it, but he said that often times people like me who have been MO for most of our lives may never get into "normal bmi".
Nik - I'd have never said that you are 200 lbs, you certainly don't look it!
