"Less than" character causes OH to delete rest of post

I have discovered that some special characters can do funky things to posts here (deleting all or part of posts).  The only one I can duplicate at will is using a "less than" sign.  It deletes everything from that character onward in the post once you submit it.  I have also had just a couple of sentences disappear in the middle of a post but cannot duplicate that.

Just thought I would warn people because a couple of other people have lost parts of posts in the past week or so.  I don't know if they upgraded software or something or if I just never used those special characters before.

Hmmm... it is HTML code symbol so I wonder if it confuses the code on the website.  I wonder if the "greater than" symbol acts the same way.

Testing.  Hmmm... nope.  And the second testing had the less than in it.  And I had a greater than in a word right behind it, so it cut the stuff between the two and formed the complete word "testing".  Interesting.  It is because it's HTML code then.

Well, at least that explains why it does it.

I noticed this last week on a post I made with the Less than and greater than symbols.
