What is the drain?

 I didn't have a drain with my RNY..which was a little surprising to me..my OBGYN put a drain in after my 3rd c-section due to my 2nd c-section would splitting open. I let my RNY surgeon know but I guess she felt it wasn't needed. The removal of my drain at after my c-section wasn't painful however I was on pain meds and my son was in the NICU so it may have hurt and I was too drugged/not worried about my feelings to notice.
