What do you expect that having RNY gastric bypass surgery will do for you?

What do you expect that your life will be like when you get to your goal?

What do you expect that you'll feel like when you get to that goal?

What do you expect that you'll have to do, in addition to eating right and moving, to get to your goal and maintain your success?

ETA: And, if my request means anything, no veteran input please. I am purposely NOT commenting on anyone's responses. There is a purpose for this!

I'm expecting to lose the weight and gain some health...
What do you expect that your life will be like when you get to your goal?
Not much different per say except that I should be healthy, eating better, and hopefully my mindset will be better (I don't know on the last one...age is creeping in! Ugh)
What do you expect that you'll feel like when you get to that goal?
Hopefully I will be more energetic and able to live life the way I want...and enjoy it in moderation (of course ;-)
What do you expect that you'll have to do, in addition to eating right and moving, to get to your goal and maintain your success?
I will have to maintain my current lifestyle in terms of eating better, exercising (my downfall, but improving)

What do you expect that having RNY gastric bypass surgery will do for you?

Help me live a better life where I can actually participate.

What do you expect that your life will be like when you get to your goal?

I haven't reached goal yet, but I expect it to pretty much be what it's like now, being able to do it all with out feeling exhausted five minutes into it.

What do you expect that you'll feel like when you get to that goal?

Happy of course! But in all honesty, I'm pretty happy where I am now, though I know I still have a ways to go

What do you expect that you'll have to do, in addition to eating right and moving, to get to your goal and maintain your success?

Just keep following my plan, which says exercise 4X a week, 45 minutes, and eat protien first. Limit your carbs and NO SNACKING. That, along with drinking with your meals, I think are the most important thing to NOT do.

I think it will help me get my confidence back.  I think it will vastly improve my health & hopefully keep me from getting all of the health troubles that my mother has right now (many due to weight).

I don't think life will be much easier or anything at goal.  I'm going to need to stay focused in order to keep the weight off.  But I do expect I'll physically feel loads better.

For me the long term maintenance will probably ride on my emotional & mental state about the whole thing.  I'm going to have to work on that in a big way.

What do you expect that having RNY gastric bypass surgery will do for you?

I expect surgery to help me get back to a healthy weight. I don't expect it to solve other problems that I have in my life, but I believe a healthy body is a start.

What do you expect that your life will be like when you get to your goal?

I expect to be much more active, not just physically, but in all aspects of my life. My weight now has put a crimp in my style on a few occassions, but not enough that I was willing to make changes. I feel I'm ready now to make the changes necessary to become a better version of myself.

What do you expect that you'll feel like when you get to that goal?

I'm sure I'll feel great! However, I'm sure there will be a little bit of me that will be nagging me about getting back to where I am now. I just have to fight it.

What do you expect that you'll have to do, in addition to eating right and moving, to get to your goal and maintain your success?

I'll need to be vigilant about following my plan. I know I could probably stray, but I need to have some sort of schedule/regimine in place so that I can't fall back on excuses.

What do you expect that having RNY gastric bypass surgery will do for you?
- I hope that it will give me the chance to really study myself enough to continue life-changing habits. It's forced me to slow down and focus on my health.

What do you expect that your life will be like when you get to your goal?
- I think my life will be a bit harder. I'm a short term goals kinda gal, so actively maintaining a healthy lifestyle seems overwhelming.

What do you expect that you'll feel like when you get to that goal?
- I hope with the weight loss (and tons of therapy at the same time) I'll feel like I can actually accomplish something that took more than 2 days to do!

What do you expect that you'll have to do, in addition to eating right and moving, to get to your goal and maintain your success?
-  I'll really need to strengthen my will; learn how to be determined...it's a trait I've never possessed.

My main goal has been met already: Stop my high blood pressure medicine. And let me tell you...it feels great! I am so happy and I expect this will help me keep off those pills for a long long time.

What do you expect that having RNY gastric bypass surgery will do for you?
It will help me achieve my goal of being healthy and living longer than I would have being MO!!

What do you expect that your life will be like when you get to your goal?
I expect I will feel great, but I am worried that my head will try and tell me "ok, now you can eat!" So I am preparing to do battle with my head and find the right maintenance plan that works for me and stick to it!!

What do you expect that you'll feel like when you get to that goal?
I expect I will feel great, but I have to wonder if when I look in the mirror if I will finally see the difference or will I still see me prior to weight loss???

What do you expect that you'll have to do, in addition to eating right and moving, to get to your goal and maintain your success?

I expect that I will always have to pay attention to what I am eating and drinking to make sure I do not drink while eating. I also believe I will have to continue to overcome my head hunger and make sure I am not ever just mindlessly eating.

It will hurt. It will take time. It will require dedication. It will require willpower. It requires sacrifice. There will be temptation. But, I promise you, when you reach your goal, it's WORTH IT! (Author Unknown). I feel this sums up my ongoing journey to a healthier me!
