What do you order when you go out to eat?

If I eat out (and it's not very often), I will usually get the meat on a salad option. Like a grilled chicken salad, or a grilled steak salad, or a grilled salmon salad. That way I can get my protein first, and then nosh on the salad part until I'm full (if I'm not already full).

I always get a 6 oz filet and eat half. I order mixed veggies and eat about an ounce of those.I takit the leftovers gone andI get two meals out of one. I usually get the potato too but I take one bite and leave it behind.

Chinese food I will get beef and broccoli or chicken and broccoli or the beef or chicken sticks with a side of veggies.

Buffet (which is overpriced for me due to limited quantity that I can eat!) roast, chicken or fish with a side of veggies.

Cheesecake Factory - Fresh grilled salmon and veggies

Kentucky Fried Chicken - the grilled chicken with a small side of baked beans

Burger King - grilled chicken sandwich with no condiments, and lettuce and tomato, toss the bread

Steak House - steak and veggies

Wendy's - the chili

Subway, roast beef with lettuce, tomatoes and onions, no condiments and toss the bread

Breakfast places - eggs with either turkey sausage or bacon and maybe a bite or 2 of hash browns.

Other assorted places I've been it's usually steak or fish with veggies.

Breakfast - eggs and turkey sausage or occasionally bacon with maybe 2or 3 bites of hash browns.( I know I shouldn't but its only happened twice in 4 months so I don't think I hurt anything!)

Other places I've been I've had grilled chicken wings, shrimp skewers, steak, a cheeseburger wi

I'm with Kelly on the Chipotle Burrito bowl. It's good for a few meals, too.

I like Coney Island because they have breakfast all day. I get scrambled eggs cooked with no butter or spray and turkey sausage and split it with my daughter.

At the Chinese place I get egg drop soup and broccoli chicken in light sauce to go, then pick off the top so all the sauce has dripped to the bottom.

I do not eat at fast food places. I know that even their grilled chicken is bad.

These are great ideas! I will be traveling in September, which will have me about 8 weeks post op. Figuring out what to eat has been one of my worries about traveling so soon, but this advice has sure helped!

Someone asked me about what type of scale I take into places I eat. You can see it and I talk about it a little on my blog. So the best thing to do is go to my blog which is in my sig at the bottom of this post and page down until you see the post with it. I have a picture of it on the post. Now it is not real small and my wife puts it in her large purse. We even take it on vacation with us. I have to do this as if I eat much more than 2.5oz and some solid food, I barf. Would not want to do that at someones home or at some place that I am eating so to be safe, I take the scale. Eyeballing does not work for me. It was a post of June 14 and is on the second page of posts. I got it at Costco and I think I paid about $20.00 for it.
