Honesty at Eight Years
Great post my surgery sister!!! I really don't think you can appreciate in the first few years after RNY how you will be living at 8 years out ...
My experiences mirror yours completely - I didn't have anyone holding my hand and had to work this thing out on my own but I think it actually probably helped because I accepted that *I* had to take responsibility for my health and wellbeing and not rely on a surgeon or NUT to know everything on my behalf - I really believe I know MORE than most surgeons or NUTs on how to live with this surgery long term - I think the surgeon probably performs surgeries better than I do

Thanks for posting - I am over 4 years out and maintaining and love to see posts from others further out than myself - we each have to figure out what works for us and what does not and stick to it.

Thanks for your thoughts, I am about 1 1/2 years out and figuring out what works and what doesn't. I had a very turbulent surgery/recovery and have struggled emotionally and some physically since. I am trying to get my anxiety under control with out eating and also re-figure relationships even close ones. I have changed in so many ways, so it seems the floodgates of change are wide open. I keep holding on to the belief that everything happens for a reason and to change creates discomfort in ones self....
