30 YEARS AGO TODAY ...and weekend disaster ... SNIPPETS
First for the weekend disaster: NOTE TO SELF: NEVER... HEAR ME OUT ... NEVER... tick your son off by getting on his case and then proceed to hand him a pair of clippers and ask him for an edge up ... just because he is your barber ... then wonder why the heck your bangs look like Spock's today... SMDH ... nuff said...
30 YEARS AGO this day... I sat on the window seat at my uncle's business with a beautiful itty bitty bump growing in my womb ... there was I ... in the USA ... and carrying the most precious gem in my womb ... my beautiful daughter ... and I barely weighed 112 pounds .... I scanned the old Polaroid picture that was taken of me ... looking like this....
Martita - 30 years ago.... pregnant with my beautiful DD
...four and a half years later I had my awesome son ... but something changed (my eating habits) and I progressively went from small to average after having my DD ... to OVERWEIGHT .... TO OBESE ... TO MORBIDLY OBESE .... for my before look of this...
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh but thank goodness for awesome weight loss surgery interventions available to us today ... along with incorporating exercise and following dietary instructions and choices to suit my surgery selection ... and I got me back WOOT ... today, years after that first picture was taken I am looking close enough to and feeling as healthy as and have awesome mobility pretty much like where I started from in that picture taken of me 30 years ago.... I LOVE IT... NOTHING FEELS AS GOOD AS HEALTH AND MOBILITY DOES....
I rocked this frock on Sunday... 5 years and 5 months post RNY this is me now.,,
And today I slipped this on for a crazy Monday at work...
and because I am a picture AW I take a picture a day for my digital empowerment journal that I labeled "A picture a day keeps the pounds and the inches away" ... it WORKS for me ... I can see it ... I can feel it ...
My before an after empowerment collage this day... on my walk away from morbid obesity one day at a time, one choice at a time...
I had an awesome weekend ... in between running and zumba and Pilate's I went dancing with DH ... I went out to eat twice with DS and friends ... I hung out with my DD ... I visited friends and went to church and on Sunday I relaxed with my first love ... my paintbrush and my palette... and I painted yet another canvas to give to an awesome sista on the RNY board here who likes my paintings of hummingbirds .... so I painted this... yesterday evening after setting up a two storey kittie castle for my eight ferrets that I found on sale at the pet club...
I painted heavy acrylics on canvas for a thick layered look using my brush and my knife ... this is an unfinished draft in close up ... it has much work and fine tuning needed yet...
This canvas is a gift for a beautiful OH sista (Hedrider) who likes my hummingbirds paintings ... I hope she likes it ....
THANKS FOR ALLOWING ME TO SHARE!!! HAVE AN AWESOME MONDAY EVERYBODY!!!

We have an orchid that grows in Panama and it is known as our National Flower ... it is called La Flor del Espíritu Santo and it looks like this .. perfectly beautiful... it grows wild and is very delicate ... our forefathers wrote that at night the angels would watch over them to protect them from the wind and inclement weather ....
