Be careful with Ambien. You know how a symptom of it is amnesia?? I have taken it for years w/o any problem. But in April I took my usual dose, but sometime during that night, I ingested the rest of the prescription, about 20 pills. Good thing my daughter noticed I was acting strange. I went to the ER, and was admitted for two days. I have no memory of any of it, until the 2nd day. The doctors said they weren't sure if I was going to make it the first 12 hours I was there. Unfortunately, I'm still stuck with insomnia, but at least I'm alive.

I don't take it because of the weird side effects.  Just responded since people getting up in the middle of the night to eat is commonly cited.

Your experience, though, is FAR more troublesome than people eating or sending emails without remembering!! Good thing your daighter was around!

LOL G'night, Nik!!

I can't sleep when my mind decides I am hungry. I toss and turn and get insanely restless and anxious. And once I start eating, it can get ugly.

This is why I defy conventional dieting advice and go to sleep relatively soon after my last meal.
