I am always partial to Titan and Atlas.
From "20000-Names.com"
Alexandros "Alex" - defender of mankind

Argos Greek name derived from the word argos, meaning "bright, shining" and "swift." In mythology, this is the name of a giant who had a hundred eyes that were transferred to the pea****'s tail after his death. This was also the name of Ulysses' dog who waited ten years for his return from the Trojan War.

GALEN: meaning "calm seas."

I know this may not sound as regal as ceasar or Augustus, but I like the name Maverick. They are very brave and will do aanything for their country. Hence he or she protecting you. A maverick can be stubborn in what they do but also take their time in non-emergency situations. Just my suggestion and I too am sorry about Khan.

First of all...I've been reading all your posts about obtaining another puppy...sorry for all your hassles and heartaches!  As for names, I do like Augustus but I once had what will forever remain one of the best dogs I have ever owned who I named Titan...  He was a German Shepherd mix who was a bit goofy, but lovable.  Very smart but stubborn as hell and did what he wanted to do, when he wanted to do it.  I never thought he had it in him because I thought he was so goofy, but he turned out to be one of the most loyal animals and fiercely protective dog I had ever owned.  This was well over 24 years ago, so he has left me a long time ago but remains forever in my heart to this day.

Good luck and have fum with choosing the name!
