What was the most heinous, unhealthy, super-caloric, horrible food you ate PRE-op?

There was a lot for me but I have to say...ghetto goulash.

Here's how it went down.

First I made a BIG bowl of cheesy grits.

Then I fried up a few pieces of bacon and threw them in there

Then I fried two eggs IN THE BACON GREASE and threw those in the grits

Then I added about 2 tbsp butter, lots of salt and pepper and...here's the kicker...

Then I added the bacon grease.

Now while this physically turns my stomach now (me and grease are no longer BFF's) I remember this being very tasty.

Sigh...memories...

This is why I feel I owe it to my heart to keep running. The things I put it through!

Nik,
That sounds amazing, but it needs some hot sauce.

I've started on my diet to lose 25lbs before my surgery, which will be sometime after the holidays.  So I don't think that I will be eating that either.  But now I'm craving grits.

I have a friend who lost her pre-op weight in record time.

She cut out all starch (kept everything else the same pretty much) and drank a gallon plus a day of water. I don't know the SCIENCE behind how that worked for her but she lost twice what she was required to lose. Even I raised my eyebrows.

OMG, I think I am going to be sick just reading about all that grease!   Seriously... turning my stomach...

Grease and I now no longer get along well at all, either.  (I get along much better with sugar than fat.)  I am sure that is part of why more than the smallest bite of a fried onion ring makes me barf when I am NOT a barf-prone person.

I gotta pick just one?  I can't.

I would say Ben and Jerry's Chunky Monkey ice cream (I always ate a whole pint at a time) and salt and vinegar potato chips (I always ate a lot at a time).

Ah, another rare food that we agree on, Kelly!  I ate B&J's Chunky Monkey and Cherry Garcia, Haagen Dazs Strawberry, Baskin Robbins' Chocolate Fudge, and a local ice cream parlor's handmade Black Cherry a pint at a time!

The local place has gone out of business after 50+ years... very sad... but the HD still has a permanent place in my freezer.  I just eat it one or two spoonfuls at at time now.
