Poll: About food tolerance
1. Negative reaction? Why yes I have.
2. What foods make me sick? Roast beast, err, beef doesn't work at all. It's too dense and just won't stay down. Sugar alcohols, specifically malitol, gives me digestive distress.
3. Symptoms? It goes down; it comes back up. SA cause violent gas and loose bowels.

1. yep
2.turkey is my mortal enemy. Peanut butter and peanuts are iffy, and too much fat in anything is BAD. I severly limit my sugar, so I don't know if that would make me dump. Ignorance is bliss in that department.
3. It rockets back up or I wi**** would. Peanuts and peanut butter if they bug me make my stomach hurt, even after a tiny amount.

besides red meat, which I was intolerant to before surgery, I haven't developed any actual intolerances.
I sometimes have trouble with broccoli and fresh or flash frozen peas. They tend to get stuck unless cooked really really really mushy even if chewed really really really well. With peas, it is the skins, not sure what about the broccoli.
I don't like the feeling of eating anything more than a bite of rice pasta or bread, especially if any liquids (sauces, drippings) are near the meal. They swell up and make me feel bloated and soupy in the gut.

> Any cooked fish in amounts greater than 1/2 an ounce make me VERY nauseous
> It's not food, but 3 oz or more of pure water gives me nausea.
> Milk - Lactose intolerance -- PAINFUL - tuba-sized gas and hiroshima-sized bathroom issues
> 3g of Sugar alcohols or more - more-or-less painless gas - toxic-fumes-of-death - diarrhea
> If I forget and drink right after eating I vomit sooner or later, Most frequently this happens with soup when I forget to sip the broth down prior to eating the chunks
> 10 g of added sugars - particularly if some or all of those grams are High Fructose Corn Syrup cause me to dump - elevated heart rate, sweating, chicken-little-the-sky-is-falling-feeling, close-the-eyes-and-wait-for-death.
> 4 g of added sugars when combined with 4 grams of the the worst types of fats and I dump
> 25 g of total carbs will give me reactive hypoglycemia 90 minutes to 2 hours later - elevated heart rate (it's been as high as 240 bpm), drenched in sweat, shaking hands, befuddled brain -- pretty much it's dumping syndrome on steroids.
foods that sometimes disagree with me
> Chicken, Pork, Turkey - 50% or more often it results in me feeling lousy, unable to finish my meal, and pouch-turmoil the rest the day. So I avoid most of these except rarely. And I exercise caution when I do.
> Plain scrambled eggs - you'd think they would be a pouch-dream.... but I can only handle one bite befroe they disagree with me - grumpy pouch. Which makes my favorite meal of Quiche ironic!

1. Have you had any negative reactions to food? Yes
2. If yes, what foods make you sick? Scallops, tortolini, taco soup
3. If yes, what symptoms have you experienced when you got sick from food?
I will try them again just to test since it may have been that I ate too fast or too much. I won't rule them out until I try them again. I don't believe I have dumped on anything I've eaten. I attribute most to eating too fast or too much.

1. Have you had any negative reactions to food? Ummm NO
2. If yes, what foods make you sick? Nothing
3. If yes, what symptoms have you experienced when you got sick from food?
Nothing. My family went to the fair. I stayed home but they brought back some yummies. Me with little to no self control had some carmel corn and half a cupcake after dinner. NO problems. Really!

1. Have you had any negative reactions to food?
Yep. I've had eggs and chicken get stuck.
I've dumped on sugar.
I've dumped on fat.
I've vomited from overeating.
I've had carb crashes.
2. If yes, what foods make you sick?
My first real episode of dumping was on a sliver of flourless chocolate cake at Passover.
I've also dumped on oatmeal mixed with peanut butter.
And the worst dump I've had was on a bowl of lo mein. Spent the entire night in the bathroom with that one. Absolutely miserable.
3. If yes, what symptoms have you experienced when you got sick from food?
If I dump, it starts with sweats and fatigue. And then it progresses to nausea and dizziness that feels a lot like carsickness. Only on the lo mein did it ever get as bad as cramping and diarrhea and vomiting. Felt like horrible food poisoning, which I know it wasn't because others who ate it were just fine.
If I overeat, it starts with the sweats and fatigue again, and progresses to a tightness in my pouch and the urge to vomit, though my pouch does NOT like to vomit, so it never actually happens. It usually passes in half an hour or so, and is better if I can just go lay down for a while.
Broccoli and sugar alcohols, particularly malitol, also make me gassy. After eating something artificially sweetened, I can feel a roiling and gurgling in my pouch and usually have to take a GasX to calm it down.
