How is it possible to be up 6 pounds from yesterday?

So weird. There is no way I gained weight like that. I don't know how to feel about this. Has this happened to anyone? What should I do?

Probably water retention.  Watch the amount of salt in your diet for the next couple days and drink a TON of water.

Will do. Thanks! I am so confused. I haven't had a period since before surgery because I was on the Depo Shot and I stopped the shot over a month ago and still no period. So maybe it's about to come? I haven't experienced a period since surgery obviously so maybe this is what happens before?

Water weight.  You don't need to do anything.  It will resolve on its own.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

2 cups of water = 16 oz = 1 pound!

12 cups of water = 6 pounds. 96 oz of liquid = 6 pounds. My target is 100+ oz of liquid, or more than 6 pounds of liquid a day.

One or two high-salt items (or time of month for water retention) and wham... up 6 pounds

I generally gained up to 10 pounds one week out of every four while losing.... sometimes 5 to 8 pounds in one night! But the next week I'd lose all the extra and a lot more besides.

While losing low-weight on the scale was my true-weight, even though I fluctuated up on some days.

What should you do? Nothing ... just follow the plan and do what you are supposed to and enjoy the massive weight losses right around the corner.

Yeah that makes sense. I just re-added protein drinks a week ago to help the loss as well. And started jazzercise. Maybe my body is being weird because of all that too. Thanks for the reply!

it freaked me out in the beginning, but then I started to weigh a LOT (many times in a day) and i started to note my own body's fluctuations and ups and downs... seeing patterns helped me to not freak out at little changes. I think that's an important part of MY process. Some can't handle the scale fluctuations, but I was more fascinated. I came to rely on the pattern and it didn't let me down until I reached a year out and flatlined for sixx months. (but didn't gain)

all the above plus I know I can gain 5 pound overnight right before I start my TOM.  Then right after my period, I'll lose it and a little extra. Then I gain the "little extra" right back about 1/2 way through my cycle and we start all over again.

It happens.  That's why I only weigh in on Mondays.

Once not too long ago I weighed myself, had a regular day of eating and exercise, then weighed myself the next day on a lark and it said I had gained 5 pounds.  If I had taken that seriously, I would have walked in front of a bus.  The scale is evil... stay away from it except for every now and then, and go by what your clothes and health say.
