iron causing stomach cramps?
Bariatric Advantage chewable iron. I believe it is Ferronyl. It is 60 mg. I take it for one week and the skip a week per Dr. instructions. Last night was the first night I tried a snack with it. I had a few bites of leftover chicken. I have had no other stomach issues. I have always taken it at bedtime. I have issues of when I can take it due to calcium and synthroid. Neither one can be taken with each other or with iron.
Your body might not tolerate it so well anymore. It just happens that way sometimes. I wish I had a better response, but you might have to call your doc or try another kind of iron. If this is bothering you, i'd avoid any of the ferric salts (ferrous fumarate, ferrous gluconate, etc) and maybe try carbonyl.

I take iron ferus gluconate , alamanto 35mg. My body seems to like it no problems so far but i have to take this one preferrably without food so i do and it's all good . maybe talk to a dietician if you don't have one already. My dietician told me which pills to take even though with iron there's always a risk of cramping and diarreah. i hope it all works out for you.
I've tried a variety of iron supplements, and except for Vitalady's Tender Iron, they ALL give me horrible stomach cramps and pain. AND they all (including vitalady's Tender Iron) bind me up.
Basically I haven't found an iron that works for me.
