My 6 years Post Op & Head Issues (Very Long)

Thank you so much for posting.  I absolutely could've written every single word that you wrote.  We are so similar.

Though I'm "only" about 4.5 years out, I've struggled with anemia, RH & regain, and of course, the head issues.  I, too, have never had a probelm eating anything, have never throw up, and can eat way more than I think I should be able to.  It's always so comforting to know that there are others out there like me.

Congrats on your success!  You have been hugely successful, and I hope you know that even if you don't always believe it (I know those head issues can be a bear!).

Dawn I haven't interacted with you much on OH but do read your post.  You have a lot to offer the WLS community, I'm glad to see you post this here on the RNY board.

Many of us can relate, the head issues definitely can weird us out and are difficult to overcome.  The "fat mind thinking" hasn't gone away for me either, it's a constant work in progress.

This post is a MANDATORY read IMO for those still on the high of the first year or two.  It doesn't last forever, once it's bypassed us the real work (again IMO) is needed.

Thank you!

Ok - getting a bit nervous after reading your post....I'm 1 year out - in the happy phase I guess.  I have slowed down a lot in losing weight and may have stablized here.  That would be good with me.  I guess I'm nervous about what the next couple of years holds given your post.  I've not been a binge eater - but with a small stomach, how can you eat a lot of food?  When I think binge - I'm thinking a gallon of ice cream - is that accurate?  Right now if I eat anything too fatty I'm yakking it up.  Will I be able to eat ice cream a year or 2 down the road?  I've been trying to set a schedule and portion level for eating over the past year.  Will hunger pangs kick in and toss this out the window in a few years?
Sigh.

Our battles are always different.  They seem almost to go into remission with surgery but eventually rear their ugly heads.   Our heads can be a funny thing.

A binge is definitely a smaller capacity post op but it's still a binge and it's never carrots and apple slices so it's still calories , sugar and fat.

The fact that you still get sick at a year out is not a bad  thing.  I'd give anything for dumping to keep me on the straight and narrow haha
