(((Christy)))

I have just went through a difficult breakup and this morning as I was driving to work I had the realization that instead of binging on food I was just choosing not to eat. This too is not good, but I know it is a total control thing...I feel like choosing not to eat is the one thing that I can control in my life because everything else is totally out of control.

THIS strikes home for me.  I was in this sitution 16 months ago after 16 years of marriage.  Choosing to "control" what can be controlled by us seems to be a pattern I've seen in my 7 years here and people I know in real life that have had WLS.

It's a tough situation......I''m not sure if you've considered therapy, it was a choice I had to make for my own santity last year.  I learned so much about myself, the toxic relationship I was in and how do deal emotionally, mentally and physically.

I wish you the best Christy, know that time heals and you will realize you deserve better.

Cajun Girl,

Thanks for your kind reply.  Yes I am seeking therapy for these issues.  I need to figure our why I have these control issues and why I don't feel worthy of being in a good relationship.  My past relationships have always been toxic.

Maybe we are sisters???

Thanks for sharing your story. I can relate to so much of it, especially the comparing myself to others part. I am super competitive and always want to be the "best" which can be both a blessing and a curse.

Thank you so much for posting your struggles. I think everyone needs a reminder that surgery is not a magic pill. We have to struggle every day.

I'm only 7 months out & I'm still struggling with eating too much & too fast.

Awesome post. I too am six years out and see alot of myself in your words, although I'm not a binger and never was. But I can replace the word binge with graze. That's where my struggle is. Thanks for the post. So valuable for ALL of us, and especially for the newbies.

I can graze with the best of them too!  Bad habit isn't it?

We all have our battles.  I wish you much luck battling yours :)
