If life were a bottle of gesso I'd repaint my history... me my own best/worst critic - SNIPPETS
Gesso... MY BFF ( Acrylic gesso is an art material and is used as a primer for acrylics painting?
....Yup... I fell off the wagon and did not journal neither intake nor output and hardly took any pictures for my daily empowerment journal .. A Picture A Day Keeps the Pounds and Inches Away ... I got totally distracted working on my mural ... after looking at it I decided I did not like it because what was in my head was not translating to my brush.... so I got totally engrossed ... and gessoed out certain parts and re-created other parts until FINALLY... FINALLY coming up with what I kinda sorta like....
I shared with you the history of my FORMER wall of pain ...that busted wall over which I agonized in the past and over which I painted a mural a couple years ago ... and decided to gesso it out and paint another ... re-dressing my wall ... I shared with you last week what I came up with ... but but but after looking at it I decided I did the hummingbirds no justice ... so I fixed it ... and again I fixed it ... and to keep it right on topic for weight loss surgery my hands busy with my mural and my brushes trying to play out the picture in my mind kept me as mindful and grounded as my journal which I picked back up again today...
I finished my wall .... the end product I like .. kinda .. sort a ... but I am anal and at times variable so I may come home and again decide I do not like it ... and fix it ... I love love love painting with artist acrylics medium ... it is flexible ... and so easy to work out with Gesso that one just cannot go wrong... I HAD TONS OF FUN PAINTING MY MURAL ... and in the process I lost 3.5 pound ... without even trying ...
I got rid of a few of the first hummingbirds I painted ... I added a new mom with chicks ... I added a few more hummingbirds and the best of all is my artistry is limited to painting, drawing, and sketching people on canvas ... animals are so not my strength ... but these birdies were humming in my head ... and now I have them on my wall...
I share closeups ... of the wall re-painted...
This is the old mural that I painted in 2010...
This is me gessoing out and re-doing the new wall I shared last week... wait ... it is totally different I am not finished here... I AM GETTING READY TO GET RID OF 3 BIRDS... AND ADD OTHERS LIKE THIS...
here are a few close-ups of my work... I LOVE LOVE LOVE MY BRUSH AND MY PALETTE AND MY CANVAS AND MY MURALS ... keeping busy and entertained is awesome therapy for the mind... all hand painted from head to brush to wall...
FOR THIS...
and of course this is a weight loss surgery forum ... so I am not off topic this is my entry into my empowerment journal today ... I went out last night with my DH and wore an awesome gown and took my first picture in gown in front of my ALMOST finished wall..
I wore this gown out to an event last night with DH...
and this was my Sunday afternoon to church gear... I slept most of the day Sunday as I painted on Friday night and when I thought it was 10 pm and time to go to bed it was actually 5:00 a.m. Sunday morning ... YIKES ... I lost an entire night ... sooooooooooo distracted...
My DS promised to help me clean the mess I made on the floor and there is still some fine tuning to do... I chillaxed on my deck in a sun dress ... and before you know it .. it was time to be back to work on MONDAY ... YIKES it seems like yesterday was just Friday... where did the weekend go?????
My little guys need to see the new wall ... just last week my albino ruby eyed ferret Caspar who is as big as a cat was loving it!
Thanks for allowing me to share ... this is a goofy thread for sure and good for nothing... but these are snippets of my journey ... I am embracing joy and making it happen to me one.day.at.a.time .... one choice at a time.... with health and mobility and 5 longer having 5 co-morbidities I am having fun despite all the daily life challenges and enjoying my journey .... WLS the best thing I ever did for ME!
