Opinions please... The busted wall..

I used to call this my wall of shame... then my wall of pain ... then my busted wall....

Picture ones precious mementos, furnishings and belongings crashing into a wall ... fixing it for it to happen again ... to hold your child who through no direct fault of his would swing from manic to depression ... to hold your child from hurting himself and once again breaking his hand from crashing it into the wall ... to see you beautiful dish or ornament inherited from your grand or great grandma come crashing into the wall ... imagine feeling as a total failure as a parent and your wall becomes a wall of shame.... imagine your precious child breaking himself and the wall when decompensating and the wall becomes a wall of pain ... but one day I decided to change it... and called it my busted wall - beautified...

To keep this on the topic for this weight loss community... when I joined OH in 2007 I started painting canvases of OH friends and peeps and sending it or giving it to them at no cost to them whatsoever .. painting is my hobby of all times ... I sketch and I paint and I paint and I sketch even when I don't know I am doing it if there is a pen or a pencil in my hand I am sketching/drawing even on my napkin ... I sit at a meeting and before it is over I sketched all the players ... yup have been drawing/sketching/painting since I could hold a crayon straight LOL ...

Here is a sample canvas I painted of an OH sista on the journey...

and this is a picture of me at the OH Conference this past October about to hand a painted canvas to another OH sista...

but not the subject of my thread and opinions are for my busted wall which is my hand painted mural I did overnight back in 2010 ... it was a sleepless long night ... I realized that not matter what the crisis was my child NEVER EVER broke or destroyed one of my paintings .... so I painted the wall of pain .. and my busted wall was no more ... he has been dedicated to his treatment and sessions and the issues of throwing things and crashing himself into the wall have subsided ... still I am the proud mom of this awesome and brilliant young man today ... mental health issues are nothing to be judged and I will stand by mine till the day I die...

So I stayed up all night and painted the wall of pain that is no more ... I beautified the busted wall by painting this mural over it in 2010 ... it is the wall in my den... the floors have to be redone but is on hold as there is a water problem in this area and wood should never have been used...

but now almost two years later my hands are itching to paint a new mural... I woke up this morning with hummingbirds stuck in my head and a NEED to paint a mural ... I went running this morning early to flush the antsiness to paint a mural away and it is still strong ... I consulted with my family about my artsy fartsy wish to repaint my mural .. of course I will do my very own mural in my head but I have a combo of all these hummingbirds wallpapers I saw online stuck in my head....

Opinions please ... what do you think of a hummingbird mural painted by me on my busted wall.... do you like any of these that I saw online? Of course my mural will be a combination of many.... any other ideas for my busted wall? Opinions/ideas appreciated..

another goofy thread ... but I love your opinions/ideas and thank you in advance for them... thanks for allowing me to share and for sharing with me...

I think it was a stroke of genius to paint the mural! It's a way to give life and rebirth to an otherwise sad area in your home. I think hummingbirds are majestic creatures that defy the 'rules' and keep on going strong. They would be beautiful on your wall

Wow, I so love your paintings!  I wish I had that talent, I know it would be therapeutic for me.  I love to paint...except it tends to be things around the house.  Walls, outbuildings and fences.  LOL  that's my extent of it.  You are GREAT!    Love them!   Have a great day!   Sherry

Thank you Dasie ... we all do have talent though ... I wish mine were singing but I am so bad at it my family want to call the ambulance thinking I am hurting anytime I sing LOL and the nuns stuck me with the boys in the chorus .. I am that bad ... can't carry a tune and always forget and make up the lyrics ... a mess ... I bet you can sing beautifully though... oh and you CAN paint... I just shared my how-to video with Greg...

What a wonderful mom you are to give your son a reason not to lash out at the busted wall. I love when parents are creative at finding ways to help their children, whether its a crisis or just everyday "stuff"! I love the first hummingbird picture, the way the reds of the flowers and the red on the hummingbird go together. As for other suggestions for the wall of hummingbirds, what about some water.. a lake, a creek, a river? Water is always soothing to me personally. I will go sit by the lake when life is throwing me curve balls that I can't hit.
