Sizzling Saturday! Whatcha eating/doing today?

I went outside EARLY to go to the farmers market and it was so hot that I felt down right out of sorts. Sigh. I did get a good haul from the market though, including: plum tomatoes, a beautiful heirloom tomato, cucumbers, onions, green peppers, a HUGE zucchini (for $1!), hot peppers (gonna make regular and mango salsa and some sugar plums. Sweet!

Now having said all that my eating has been crap. I CHOOSE to make the excuse that it's my TOM and my salt cravings this month have been off the chain. I mean the night before last I made edamame, drowned it in soy sauce then ate the edamame and DRANK the damn soy sauce. Yes, it's that bad.

S'anyway...my eating has been fairly crappy today so far.

1. Oatmeal with peanut butter (broke the peanut butter moratorium...sigh...insanity...)
2. Some ranch soy crisps
3. Click Frapp

At some point today I am going to make me some Cajun tilapia with veggies and cauliflower rice. And I need to get some whippage so I can eat some berries for dessert. Hopefully that's it. Hopefully.

Stay cool everyone!

I'm envious of your farmer's market.

So far today:

1. slice of quiche
2. grapefruit

Planned
3. Protein shake
4. Home-made Quiche (must get started making that in the next 45 minutes) (I wonder how it would be with some peas thrown into the mix?)
5. protein shake
6. FAGE with raspberries and cherries
7. Protein shake
8. Artichoke hearts and cheese and sugar snap peas
9. Almond Milk

Today on my agenda:
1. Exercise 30 minutes (did it, yay!)
2. Make Quiche -- spinach, shallots, onions, leek, vegetarian sausage, perhaps some organic peas too.
3. play scrabble or cards with my hubby and stepson.
4. We migh****ch the movie "A Sound of Thunder" .... hubby and I read the short story, and we gave it to his son to read, so if he's read it, we migh****ch the movie together.

Other than that, I have plans for slothful coexistence with my recliner and my just-neutered baby kitten.

Today has been kind of a wasted day for me, I'm afraid. One day of "meh" won't derail me, but I need to make sure I get back on the ball tomorrow.

I slept in, and then had a can of steak and veggie soup for brunch, and a NSA ice cream sandwich for dessert a couple hours later. I just had a handful of Ritz crackers a minute ago. Tacos for dinner tonight at a birthday party, and then possibly popcorn during the movie marathon I have planned with the Husband tonight. He keeps trying to talk me into half a glass of wine. I'm not a drinker and never was, even pre-op. It doesn't appeal to me, although I do enjoy a glass of wine on occasion. I've told him clearly that if I have wine, it's going to be half a glass, period. And that is all. I've warned him of how strongly is can affect post-ops, and that I do NOT want to make myself sick. So I don't know. I might have a few sips, if I've had a good dinner beforehand. I may not.

I love that you went to the Farmer's market, Nik. We have a gorgeous one here down in Soulard, and I love to go, but it's been so hot, I don't think I can brave the trip into the city.
It's 8 aisles of this--an open-air market, with everything from produce to meat to spices to bakery goods, to clothes and jewelry, flowers, incense, perfume, candy, and homegoods. It's crazy awesome. I really want to go again soon.

That looks like Lexington Market here in Baltimore. It's open every day but Sunday. There are about 8 of those around Baltimore (the others are smaller and Lexington Market is the most notable one). Yep, butchers, fish mongers, flowers, veggies, fresh fruits, the whole nine. There's one right near my job.

Slept late today so no real breakfast. I feel good about that, actually since I pretty much grazed all day yesterday. Didn't do any real damage, but I certainly don't want that to be a habit.

So far today I've had:
Faux mocha protein shake with an extra scoop of protein to make up for no breakfast.
Turkey chili with cheese, greek yo, salsa, and a couple of TJ's soy/flax tortilla chips.
NSA Klondike bar.

Plans for the rest of the day:
Some sort of fish for dinner with or without veggies, depending on the mood. Gonna try to resist adding couscous or quinoa.

Berries and yogurt.

I'm jelly of the Farmer's Market but it's too hot to even think about going!

Happy Saturday!

Tis ok girl. I totally get the drinkin the soy sauce!!
Today is recovery since yesterday was craptastic. Yesterday afternoon began it all with ice cream from a local dairy. Then a whole order of chips from salsaritas. Made hubby take me out and I had a fat ass piña colada, bread with butter, half a chicken salad sandwich and a baked potato with butter and sour cream. And an Oreo mcflurry on the way home. Then last night around 10 was me into leftovers. WTF?

Anyhoo super thirsty today. Did body pump then a half hour of arctrainer.

- click and skim
- cytosport RTD watermelon for recovery
- scrambled egg whites and big salad here shortly
No clue on dinner.

Tonight is UFC PPV which means junk all around but I refuse!! I've been so proud of myself the last several weeks with crapfood and alcohol and yesterday was a fall but I am back up!!!

Be happy.

Another exhausting day... bed at 11 last night (after 2hrs sleep the night before) up at 4, work 5-9, visit with my boss, home to help my mom, tried breakfast had to toss it because had to help my mom again and it got cold. Tried breakfast again, she was calling for me again so I gave it to the dog.
Went for a haircut and getting my prescription, have some more errands to run but my mom has a friend over and she is pretty crippled too so I am playing wait staff for them.

B1 - mint cookie w/ water
B2 - 1/2pc P28 toast, 1slice tomato, 2pc turkey bacon, bit of mayo
S - topping of pizza
L - Nik's Magic Meatballs, bertolli 5chz sauce, cheddar chz, 1/2 flatout foldit; 1/2 topping of pizza (gah, I'll be glad when that is gone)
S - bought some new protein bars, maybe will try one
D - either Niks mexi-cali meatloaf or tilapia - with veggies
S - depending on where I am at for the day I might have peanut butter and cottage cheese; otherwise berries

I plan to swim if I ever get a few minutes.

I am making meatloaf today. While this may not seem like a big deal to me it's huge. I have not had the energy to cook anything. I'm making them into meatloaf muffins and I'm going to freeze them so I can continue to avoid cooking.
I had Indian food leftovers for breakfast and a banana with p.b for a snack.
