Smoking before surgery nicotine test

I quit 2 weeks b4 surgery. No test, but she did ask. I'm crazy honest with her, so she took my word I guess.
I used Chantix to quit and also got an electronic cigarette with no nicotine that I smoked up to the day of surgery. For me it's the oral fixation when I'm bored so the e-cig really helps with that. If you google smoking and surgery, most of the online sites say quit smoking for 2 weeks prior to surgery and for 2 weeks after to aid in your healing. I know my doctor has cancelled surgery on patients the DAY of surgery if he found out they were smoking. Fortunately, I didn't have that problem.
If you are a regular everyday smoker it can be detected for about 2 weeks. After two weeks it's a low enough amount to be considered the same as what you would get in your system from second hand smoke.
If you are an infrequent smoker (like once a week or less) it stays about 3-4 days.
Of course the more you smoke a day the time frame increases.
