Pedicures before surgery??
Hi ladies (assuming most men don't worry with what color of nail polish they pick out
)
I know with certain surgeries, they do not want you wearing toenail polish or fingernail polish, so the nails are visible for lack of oxygen....
Just wondering of anyone had to remove theirs prior to surgery because my girls an I were going out for pedicures and girls day :)

Natch if they say no opaque polish, don't get it. But seeing the color of your nailbeds to assess for cyanosis is old-fashioned. Nowadays nurses read your oxymeter, or whatever it is.
I'm pretty sure it's only the fingers that they do not want colored nail polish on. I know my surgeon's nurse stresses this at support groups. In fact, she said they have nail polish remover they sometimes have to get from a "hazard locker" to remove nail polish on some patients. If you're worried at all, I'd think you might be more concerned over major surgery vs nail polish. You can always ask your surgeon's office. I'm sure someone "in charge" at the office would know. I got a pedicure before surgery. My toes were a beautiful shade of orange. No problems here.
