What's for dinner - Tuesday!

So...I think I may have crossed over to the "dark side."

Yesterday's caloric total: About 487 calories
Today's plan pans out at: 347 (even though I ate three meals...strange)

(DISCLAIMER: If I haven't harped about it enough I am doing a poverty eating challenge, spending only $1.50 a day on food. My goal is not weight loss, I don't advocate eating this little. It is purely to do the challenge and experience something of the day-to-day realities of the world's poorest people.)

Anyhoo...so it's dinnertime right? And I kinda don't want to eat. So long as I don't eat, not eating doesn't bother me. But as soon as I chew something, it's ON!

Yes...I have crossed over to the dark side. Somebody pull me back!!!

I will eat dinner. Begrudgingly. I'm not particularly hungry (surprisingly) and as soon as I eat my stomach will remember what I am doing to it and I will be miserable. But I will eat. I promise.

Anyhoo...dinner isn't even exciting. More lentils. And eggs. Insanely excited about the eggs though. INSANELY. Me loves protein.

Other eats:

Breakfast:

Lentils! And eggs!

Lunch:

Lentils! And cauliflower rice!

Granted I COULD eat things other than lentils but most other things that fit in my budget were things that would have me gnawing my arm off and I absolutely detest being hungry. And in reality I don't mind my curried lentils at ALL.

So anyway...enough of my insanity. What's on YOUR plate?

I have a few hours before my meal break at work. It is 4pm and I go eat at 8, so there is plenty of time for me to change my mind. As of now I am planning on tilapia with onion and cheese on it, with broccoli / cauliflower and sweet peppers as sides.

I bought a Ghiardelli Sea Salt Dark Chocolate bar and left it in my parent's freezer so it wasn't convenient to me. I had one section and did fine leaving the candy there. Get to work - someone offers me a Ghiardelli Dark chocolate section and I ate it. GAH... chocolate slays me every time, it is my magnetic kryptonite.

Anyway
B- mint cookie protein made w/ water
S- sea salt chocolate 1 square
L - tilapia w/ cheese and onions, fresh butterbeans, fresh corn, fresh maters YUM
S- Dark chocolate square
- quest
D - tilapia etc
S - as if I need it... probably cottage cheese, sf jello w/ fruit
I also brought some berries to work (2 strawberries, a few blueberries, 3-4 raspberries)

I'm going to make my gluten free pepperoni, mushroom, onion, fresh mozzarella pizza. Couple that with a spinach salad and I'm good!

Lori - Ghiradelli Intense Sea Salt with Almonds is the bomb! One square is my perfect treat at night. 52.3 calories of goodness (fresh from the freezer to nibble on) and then off to bed. I love the dark chocolate and sea salt combo. I've got to tell you I was at the local high-end market last week and I found an organic dark chocolate sea salt bar (Salazon Chocolate Company) that was equally the bomb, but it wasn't portion-able into neat square - just one big slab...now that is dangerous!

ETA: I did make it out for a lunchtime run and finished just as the skies opened up. Whew! But I didn't get any quality stretching in, so tonight I'm throwing a Rodney Yee (I think that's his name), DVD into the machine and going to do me some pm yoga to get these unstretched quads back into a decent state of flexibility.

This was my first time trying it.  I am in love.  A friend gave me a piece of the Twilight and it was good, but more calories.

Wowzers!  My calories haven't been that low since right after surgery.  I admire your undertaking the challenge.  I strongly considered trying it out but I was homeless for a brief period (less than a year..but actually on the streets) in my youth so I gave myself credit for "time served" there.  You would have thought my weight would have been lowest at that point but no.

I missed breakfast but I had steamed shrimp (10), 30gs of olives, a bag of Kay's protein chips for lunch.  A Fage blueberry acai for a snack.

Dinner will be left over pot roast.  I will make DH a sandwich.  Not sure what I will have with mine.  Can't eat much with it as it seems tha pot roast really fills me up quickly.  Just have to make sure I chew it enough.  Slipped up on that a few months ago.  Ugh.  Poorly chewed food is no fun coming back up.

Later I will probably have a couple of flourless oatmeal raisin cookies.  OH! I forgot to tell you I had made those Nik.  I liked them.  Too much of a artificial sweetener aftertaste for my husband. So I might not make them again because I had to have him hide the remainder from me and dole them out 2/day .   That was after I hosed through 7 of the 16 cookies on the first day of baking them.   Fortunately they are not very big but wow.

Good evening everyone!

 Um.

Either a roast beef sandwich or pizza delivery.  We have plumbing work being done - and I can't get in the kitchen.  Excuses.  I win.

I vote pizza. And I get two votes since pizza is out of my budget range!

we did sandwiches here. Mine was an open faced (otherwise it would have been wayy too much bread for me) roast beef and cheese with light mayo.
