Can I start the countdown yet?

Can I start the countdown yet?

Can I, can I, c-can I start the countdown yet????

TWO MORE FRICKIN DAYS!!!!

Oh sweet Saturday, come to me!!!

Knowing me I will totally conk out on three bites of real food. And to be honest what I miss most (after a measly 2.5 days…I am such a wimp) is my protein shakes!!!

TWO MORE DAYS!!!

Eht-emmmm…now then…let’s get on with it.

Dinner tonight for me is…lentils (shocker!) with some garbanzos mixed in for fun.

Eats today:

1.      Two eggs as an egg pancake with caramelized onion

2.      Curried lentils and cauliflower rice

Oh food…I misused you before but after this I will appreciate you for the nourishing powers and beautiful fresh tastes that you are. I love you. I miss you. Call me (maybe).

What’s on your plate today?

 How many days?  ;)

Eats for dinner.  I have no clue.  Might make the family some spaghetti and just chew some ground beef or some leftover chicken breast for myself.

Darling I am a city slicker. Chicken, to me, is meat. Beef is meat. Pork is meat. Duck is meat.

I make no distinction!

So...mmmmm...meat...

We picked up our produce co-op bag yesterday and it had all kinds of good stuff in it: Carrots, cabbage, local corn on the cob, kohlrabi, zucchini, summer squash, two pounds of cherries, peaches, plums, cantaloupe, tomatoes, romaine...

So tonight, I'm inviting the family over.

I gave some bone-in split chicken breasts a dry spice rub and bathed them in BBQ sauce. Gonna slow roast those.

I made a slaw with grated kohlrabi, cabbage, carrots, and red onion.

Going to have baked beans, turn the corn into elotes asado con chile. I pitted all the cherries and made a very low-sugar cherry crisp for dessert, and well as four loaves of zucchini bread--two plain and two chocolate with walnuts. Both are low sugar, low fat. Gonna be a very yummy dinner.

And speaking of low-budget meals, the whole co-op bag was only $21, designed to feed a family of four for two weeks. The cherries alone would have cost $10 easy at the grocery store. And because I buy the chicken bone-in, it's only $.98 per pound, so I only paid about $6 for the protein to feed my family of 6 tonight.

I believe tonight is going to be breakfast since I forgot to take anything out of the freezer for my husband to cook.

So it will be scrambled eggs w/onion and green peppers.  Like 2.
An Aidell's chicken sausage and I usually eat half a biscuit with jam.  I don't buy a seperate sf or low sugar jam because I might eat a tsp every other week so it's the full sugar stuff.  I will re-evaluate that if my consumption ever increases.

Later before bed...hmm, I ate my last 2 flourless oatmeal raisin cookies last night so I don't know.  Maybe a greek yogurt.  I have a Chobani blood orange so yea...greet yogurt.

LOL. Oh I meant to tell you for your hubby...the recipe works with regular sugar too if he'd like some.
