Quinoa is a grain, prepared & served a lot like rice but it is a "healthier" alternative to starchy rice.
Check BariatricFoodie.com for recipe ideas.

I didn't eat much today. On vaca & sick as a dog. Ate a biscuit this afternoon sometime & had a bowl of chicken/spinach/tomato stew over rice for dinner. Other than that I ate part of a z pack if that counts lol.

I marinated two pork tenderloins in dijon, olive oil, a little white wine, garlic and fresh herbs from the garden and I am roasting it with zuchinni, green beans, baby bok choy, garlic and a red onion from the farmers market.

We are going to have leftovers for while.

Enjoy your day and stay cool.

Low on calories today.  Might have to figure out how to get in a little extra.

I ran four miles on treadmill and I know I need to eat something no where near protein goals, did get all vitamins in. But so not hungry. Might just have a protein shake. Too many carbs today.

When I read the heading "you know what's REALLY getting old,"  I thought you were talking about me.

Hope things begin to cool off for you soon!  I know it's got to be miserable when it's so hot.

Funny...everyone keeps complaining about the heat...i think I am having a NSV.  weighing over 100 lbs less than I was last summer and can feel the difference.

Nik- wanna share your menu for next week?  i would LOVE to join you in your pledge.

Dinner- Trader joes low card wrap with leftover roasted chicken, shredded cheese and a pickle.  Also tried those Special K Cheddar popped chips.  Didn't love em but I am glad I triedthem.

Wait four years...heat misery comes back! I am 140 lbs lighter than pre-op and my azz is HOT!

I have a few ideas on what I'm going to make but I have to work it all out to make sure my protein is good. I'm trying to stay true to this thing so (gasp!) no protein shakes for me next week. The per serving price of protein powder takes me WAY over budget.

Dinner here was good ...got my sweety to try fish tacos. Also made turkey for the kids and as a back-up plan. Crispy talapia, over seasoned worked great.
