I've graduated to a regular diet!
Tomorrow I graduate to a regular diet. It's kind of exciting, yet scary all in the same
breath. I'm excited to eat some of the things I missed....like lettuce, green onions,
watermelon, strawberries, etc. I'm also afraid of the trial and error factor that comes
along with RNY.
I can't believe I'm 6 weeks out already! For the first week or two I really felt like I had
"buyers remorse". I wondered how ANYONE could love their RNY, as so many have
said. I can now say that I feel the exact same way. I'm loving my RNY!!

congrats!!!! i dont wanna burst your bubble, but prob for the first yr or so you will not be able to go on a regular diet. You are going to learn that most solid foods are just not gonna sit right, no matter how much you chew. When i was in your spot, i thought i could take down most things, i was very wrong. I was puking at least 3-4 times a wee****il i learned more about my new anatomy. Soups will be your friend tho. Chili, some salads, fruits, nuts and a few potato chips will go down easy. Dont even think about steak or a burger quite yet...lol
right now, its panera soups, child macaroni n cheese microwavables, or mini meat raviolis for lunch, clear soups for dinner with some fruit. But then again, everyone is different, hope you do great!! Im still learning everyday....still, the best decision i have EVER made!

You are so right, soup is my new best friend and a major staple in my life. I am almost 4 months out and if a solid doesn't quite agree soup is the very next meal. I have it at least 7 times a week, either lunch or dinner
yepp...the heavier solid foods are just not worth it right...you have 2 small bites and you feel like crap and not even satisfied...but a nice cup of black bean, chicken noodle or egg drop soup hits the spot and you feel like a normal human being. Oh, and thats another big thing for me, baked beans, even from KFC, easy to eat, is like a solid food, and tastes delish! only downside is you gonna be stepping on frogs all night, if ya know what i mean...hahaha

You have to go easy at first and try the stuff at home or you might regret it.

yay! def. be careful but you never know what will work and what won't till you try. everyone is different. i am also six weeks out and hamburger is no problem at all for me. i even had a couple of bites of brisket today, no issues. now, fish is a different story lol!

I am on soft food and hope to be on regular food next week. But I was told I could have ground beef already and I have it a couple of times a week. I have no problems with it at all. I also have been having blended fruit as well. Again no problems at all. So I think it is up to each person some have problems with some things and some don't.
