Random Poll o' the Week: Pouch Capacity
RNY on 01/18/12
5 months out and I am a B. I am pleased to read that some people remain in this category even at a few years out. My capacity is about 1/2 to 3/4 cup, depending on the density of the food. I am also careful to weigh and measure. I have no trouble getting all my protein and water in during the week when I am living by the clock, but I sometimes forget to eat or drink on the weekends.

I am 4 months and 3 days out.
On MOST days, I'm between B and C.
From day one, I have been able to eat quite a bit, and frequently. Also, I haven't met many foods that don't agree with me.
As long as I stick to protein-rich foods, I have zero problems getting my protein in without supplement. I've often been surprised at how much I can eat, so I have to be vigilant about portioning, and not eat mindlessly from the container.
If I'm hungry, I can eat a whole enchilada, a whole (small) cheeseburger or hotdog, or a whole burrito. I can eat 2 hardboiled eggs. I can eat the entire guts of a 6" Subway sub, plus a few bites of bread. My little pouch is roomy. I also have days where I don't/can't eat much at all, but those are relatively rare.
Now, that being said, I do have a certain limitation, and if I exceed that limitation, I am going to pay dearly for it. That's really good incentive not to go hog wild if I feel like it.

That last sentence is the crucial difference between a non-food addict and a food addict. We can't see that. We do what makes us feel good at the moment and then whine about the consequences.
Well that is until we learn not to do it anymore. But it never really seems to come naturally.

I am 8 months out. Between C and D and it really sucks........... I can't eat as much as prior to surgery .......I don't think. I can still pack it away if I needed too. In many ways, I am somewhat disappointed with this surgey... I would love a lot more restriction.
I am 2 months short of 5 years.
D... All of the above. With very dense foods (beef, tuna, hard cooked eggs), I can still only eat a surprisingly small amount, so that old be case "A". Case "B" applies most of the time. Case "C" also, however, applies much of the time. I choose to utilize option B, but option C cannot be eliminated as a definite possibility, especially because you put the "wanting to" in there.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
I am only 8 weeks post op.
my pouch is still semi sensitive to some things, but its not the things I expected to be sensitive to.
I get a strange sensation when drinking iced tea, but no other liquids have bothered me (weird). Spicy sometimes bothers me, but only when its on an empty pouch.
I can eat ANYTHING, no dumping and the pouch doesnt complain about much.
The only thing I have puked up after eating was a VEGI BURGER!! wth??? seriously.... what eva pouch.
I have a good amount of restriction, but not as much as I would like. I can eat about 4-6 oz at a meal right now.
I dont feel hunger, EVER.
I could go all day on liquids alone I love my liquids.

I honestly don't know. I have to dig out my info again. I'm just at six months post op right now. Tonight, after working out with my trainer and an hour spin class, I ate a hamburger patty (sirloin...not sure what the fat is in that) and that was 4 oz, about 1/3 cup rice, 1/4 cup beans and a few leaves of lettuce. I don't really know how much food that is, I'm not good at guessing measurements. I feel like its too much, but I always stop when I'm full and I was able to eat all of that. I don't know. I'm always second guessing everything.
