what a morning!
Up to help my mom and before I even finished my protein shake one of the horses trampled one of my favorite hens! I went running out and the little hen had an obviously broken leg. Wrapped her up and put her in the bathtub while I went to get my dog kennel from my sister's house. Called my vet (dog/cat) and they agreed to look at my hen. LOL I love my vet.
Got home, took the chicken to the vet and they splinted/ wrapped her leg and gave her a tiny shot of steroids. "No charge... because if she dies it might be the shot that kills her" lol.
Missed my spin class dealing with a $3 chicken, but she is a sweet little thing.

B - banana flavored protein/ 1tsp PB2, skim milk
L - rotisserie chicken, green beans, squash (have to finish these and then start on crunchier denser veggies)
S - Pure protein bar
D - taco casserole (ONE serving) lots of veggies. Lots
S - turkey pepperoni / cheese
- cottage cheese, SF jello w/ fruit

Oh, poor little chicky. I hope she makes it and stays away from horse hooves from now on.

I hope she pulls through... as long as her back is ok she should be fine.  She ate a ton!
The other chickens headed for the yard (where they BELONG) and stayed as far as I know

I so want some chickens but my homeowners association is dead set against livestock and poultry.  *sigh*

I want chickens and one of those cute little pens I see on Pinterest.

That's a shame.... chickens cut down on nasty bugs like roaches and ticks, they are "green", friendly, quiet.   Not real smart, obviously   :)

They have some awesome pens!!  Mine is just a big fenced in area taking up room because the chickens are actually not only in MY backyard, but in my parent's yard wandering around as well.

There's lots of interesting food in this thread today.
You lucky Southerners with your ripe-in-June homegrown tomatoes! You have to endure Godawful heat, but that would almost be worth it to me for an extra month or two per year of tomatoes.

I bought milk and tofu, so now I have to eat milk and tofu. I assume the tofu will sit well with La Pouchette; she liked the steak I fed her. There'll be backtalk after the soy, but nobody here cares.

Now--   Decaf with--living dangerously!--1/3 high octane beans
Elevenses--   Fage with white chocolate pudding mix and almonds
Lunch--   I have zucchini; I have turkey; I do not yet have the recipe for zucchini turkey roll up thingies.
Tea--   Premier latte with leftover coffee and some flavor of Torani
Dinner--   Tofu. Sesame oil & Tamari
Bedtime--   This is a problem lately. The uncontrolled eating is coming back at night. I plan a small meal, but have trouble slowing down and following the plan. Got to get a grip on this now.
