What are you eating/doing today? Saturday!

I have a BUSY day today. Which of course means I also have the cramps of death. Boo.

I'm going to make a laundromat run (my stepdad hasn't had a chance to bring my washer/dryer from storage yet). Then I'm going to fhe farmers market, then for a walk around the lake, then to my old house to donate my girls old bunk beds, then to pick up the girls grandma, then we're all going to a strawberry festival, then to their brother's birthday party and then I am going to a BBQ later this evening being held by my old high school classmates.

Whew! But who am I kidding? When I am not trying to sell an old house/settle into a new house this is pretty much what all my summer weekends look like. I like to stay busy!

Eats:

1. Probably a protein shake as these cramps are kicking my butt! Once I get walking it will get better though.

2. I'll probably sample some stuff at the farmer's market and maybe buy a spicy turkey patty

3. Lunch will probably come from the Strawberry Festival. Not sure. They have usual grilled fare.

4. I'll also probably have something at the birthday party a few hours later. It's at a bowling alley so I'm going to try to keep it to nibbles.

5. And a few hours later if there is anything left at the BBQ I'll have some of that!

So there ya go.

I'm at work today :(

Breakfast was from Dunkin, sausage egg and cheese croissant and a med iced coffee.

Lunch will be something from the caf, either salad or soup because the pickings are slim on the weekends.

Dinner will again either be from the caf or maybe we will order out, depends on who is working.

This has been a super long week between my BF and best friend both being out of the country, getting sick (102 fever, blech) and working. I am looking forward to my mani/pedi/waxing tomorrow just so I can relax!

today I plan to be a slug or perhaps a "lump on a log" as my grandma used to put it.

I had a protein shake first thing

Now hubby's preparing to make vegetarian sausage and egg and cheese for me for breakfast.

Later in the day I will likely have, in no particular order:

a cup of ruby red grapefruit (100 calories)
2 more protein shakes (330 if you include the first one)
a cup of almond milk (60 calories)
a low-calorie juice bar (15 calories)
a salad with snap peas, olives, cheese, and artichoke hearts. (200)
a slice of quiche (maybe) (220)
a serving of full-fat fage and berries (300)
A bedtime snack (100 to 150 calories)

(approximately 1500 calories, if I have the quiche), 1300 calories elsewise.

I've been trying to haphazardly track my calories since every blessed calorie I consume seems to go directly to my fat cells to plump them up. (driving me bonkers) I tend to track "worst case scenario" but generally consume less. I might have 2 protein shakes, no quiche and no salad. (which would put my calories under 1000)

Woooo Hooooo!! It has been a crazy rainy, storming day here. Roads are flooding and it is still pouring. I went to the next town over (by the beach) and it wasn't raining nearly as hard, no thunder so the 5k was ON! And guess who has a new PR of around 38:49 *unofficial*???? WOOT!
Now I'm helping my mom, then I'm thinking a rainy day nap before I go work 2hrs of overtime. Hope the weather clears dramatically later on though - tomorrow is supposed to be my first day of group triathlon training, but as rough as the sound was there is no way they'll have people swimming.

38:49!!!

B - pre 5k - shake w/ 1/2 banana (thanks Nik and Paul!) the banana didn't even give me any trouble
edited because I forgot post 5k - 1 palm sized pancake, 1/2 a lemon crumb cake ..... bad choices with bad results!
L - tuna fish (also edited to add fresh peas, fresh corn, fresh tomatowith a muffin of cornbread)
S - quest or cottage cheese and SF jello w/ fruit
D - tilapia, onions, cheese, veggies (if I have any more tilapia?)
S - whatever I didn't have for afternoon snack (quest or CC)

I went to a farmer's market this morning.  They didn't have as much produce as I'd hoped, I guess it's still a little bit early in the season.  I got some zucchini and some yellow squash.  I also got some organic salsa and some organic, grass fed cheese.  Well, the cows that the milk came from that was used to make the cheese were grass fed, you know, cheese doesn't eat grass or anything else.

I had a protein bar early this morning and then had a protein shake in the car on the way to the farmer's market.  While I was there, I sampled some cheese and some salsa (well, I had to taste it to know what kind I wanted to buy!  They had about a million varieties).

I'm gonna have some cheese later on, and probably some  yogurt.  I think dinner is gonna be hummus on slices of squash and zuccini.

Today was the official "opening day" at our farmers market. They had LOTS of stuff.

I got:

a HUMONGOUS zucchini and a pretty big yellow squash (must always have these in the fridge)
Some "made by the person who sold it to me" granola - cinnamon raisin
a bunch of Granny Smith apples (altho they were looking a little beat up)
Fresh picked peas...gonna try my hand at pea hummus
A bag of fresh salad greens (next week I want to get some arugula).

I still have a lot from last week's haul, including onions, garlic and tomatoes. I wanted to buy some patty pan squash but I ran out of money. Next week. Also, I hope the vendor who sells portabellos is there next week too.

 Nik,

Do you go to the farmers market on 33rd? I heard that was a good one. I drove by there today on my way home from the zoo. I wanted to stop but my twin darlings were exhausted.

Yoga, baby.  I feel GOOD today.

It might also have to do with the kick ass shopping score I made today.  More on that in a few.

Woke up and had pb crackers before yoga.  Did an hour of super intense power yoga and followed that with 24 of water and a decaf skinny cafe mocha.  Then came home and my mom and sister were here to pick up my daughter for her annual "spend a week with nini for the summer" tradition.  So I broke out the hot hot hot salsa I made yesterday with my homegrown yellow tomatoes, elephant garlic, onions, jalapenos and storebought cilantro and we all had some of that with tortilla chips.  Then I had a pure protein chocolate deluxe bar.

That's about where I am at 3:15 with food.  I haven't had any.  I'll make myself a protein drink here in a few after I shower.  I'm gonna try the triple xxx method and drink it from a pretty pink wine glass.  :)

Shopping.  I stopped at my favorite thrift store and walked away with a new dress shirt for work, six pairs of jeans (my favorite brands!  Seven, Vigoss, Rock & Republic, and Buckle's Antique Rivet - score), a fabulous vintage styled but new construction 60's style minidress, a new necklace, a bracelet to deconstruct and make new jewelry out of, and some new in the box Christmas presents for my MIL (wine accessories).  I also saw the boutique store two stores down was going out of business so I stopped in just to look.  It's always been way too expensive for what what in it, but today EVERYTHING was 75% off.  I got some Willow Tree figures for Christmas presents for $5 and under each.  Some picture frames for $3 and $4 each.  Mugs less than $3 each.  I walked out with what SHOULD have been $170 worth of merchandise for $44 including tax.  Lots of Christmas and birthday presents, not to mention a few goodies for me as well.  I'm happy.  :) I heart it when I score like that.  The Buckle jeans alone were worth that I paid for the whole lot.  It pays to be a regular customer and a size not many people shop for.
