OT Rant - I'm not mad or surprised, just annoyed

Youre doing a great job. I was once in your childrens shoes. my mother also never said a bad word about my father or his family and let the dark come to the light. 

I found out as i got older how bad of a person he was on my own.  I also realized how little his family cared for me. 

In turn, I appreciated my mother a whole lot more for how she handled my childhood.  She didnt shield me from his wrong doings she simply just didnt give her opinion or speak bad about him.

You truly are the bigger person in this situation.

I am going to take notes b/c I feel this is where my daughter is headed as well.
She is two & is terrified of men b/c she is never around them.
She has seen her father 4 times since she was born & each time was b/c I bought his plane ticket or drove 12 hrs to pick him up or take her to see him. His family has seen her twice although I have extended to same offers to them as well. He is great with his older 2 kids (that she has never met). Idk what it is about my child that makes him turn his back.

My mom never held he tongue when it came to my dad & it really turned me against him. To this day I find it hard to talk to him & have never really connected with him b/c of things I was told from a very early age.
