It does underscore the importance of dealing with the trauma associated with massive weight loss (and it is trauma).

My heart breaks for him because his issues are ones we all face.

Please watch. It is illuminating.

I also watched it today. So sad. I hope he gets the help he really needs.

I watched the program. I am praying for his emotional and physical healing. The biggest battle we face is in the mind.

I watched it in tears this morning.  Its true his issues are ones we all face.  He is brave for sharing so much so publicly.  Not sure I could do that.

Nik - you often write about dealing with the head stuff surrounding why we eat the way we do. As a newbie I am trying to tackle this during my first year out.  Its TOUGH.  No easy answers as to why I over ate.  Very complex and emotional.

My ultimate fear...losing all the weight, being physically active and letting it get away from me.

And it all starts with "oh it's okay if I don't exercise this week" and "oh it's only one bite" and then "oh it's only 5 pounds".

That is so sad....and what I am afraid of, though I feel like I am in that mental mode of accepting and letting go of the past and moving forward.

I really, really hope he gets the mental help he needs to be successful.

I've never seen or heard anything about him until now.  So sad to watch but it leaves me with a couple of questions/thoughts after watching the video.

1.  Did he have a psych to help him once he lost the weight?  It sounds like he needed someone and either didn't take advantage of their professional help, or it wasn't there for him from the beginning.

and

2.  He said he has something different this time. "Meagan".  That's a lot of pressure put on her!  What if something happens and they split or ???  Will he crumble again?

I truly wish him success his 2nd go around.  I think this reality is something all WLSers fear.
